I landed in the US in 2018 as PR. Married to US citizen. Got the 10 yr Green card by June 2022 (I-751 process has been completed). Location: Philadelphia, PA office. Will be a 5 yr resident of US this year.

I applied for N400 in Oct 2022. I got the interview by end of Dec 2022 and passed it. But it's been 5 months since the interview and have not received any follow ups about the oath ceremony. Is this weird or unusual? how long could this wait go on for?

Sept 2020: Filed for I-751

June 2022: 1-751 Approved

Oct 2022: Filed for N-400.

Dec 2022: Interview - Passed all the exams.

May 2023: Still Waiting for Oath Ceremony

I’d say it is most unusual, try sending them an inquiry about that.

I did request a name change however. To change my last name legally/officially. Someone told me that could be a cause for the delay as well.

Still there is no harm in reaching out to poke them. May or may not help.

Gotcha. So call the 1800 number you mean right?

that would be the best way to communicate in terms of first steps I assume.

This could work but I believe there is also an online inquiry you can make. I can’t any more precise details as I did not need to find any inquiries so far. You’ll have to do this homework by yourself. If you gonna call to USCIS the fastest way to reach out a real person to talk to would be asking for a InfoPass appt(you don’t need one but that way you can actually talk to a real person to ask your questions). Good luck!

The paper you received at the end of the interview, Form N-652, has the name on the officer who interviewed you at the top of the form. If you look further down the page it says this:

4. Send any questions about your application in writing to the officer named above. Include your full legal name, Alien Registration Number (A-Number), and a copy of your Form N-652.

I would send a letter directly to the officer.

I had my N-400 interview last week with a pending I-751 so a decision could not be made until that was approved. It was approved 5 days later — now i am also waiting for my oath ceremony to be scheduled. If I don’t hear in a few weeks I plan to write a letter to the officer.

It’s been two months after my interview and still no updates. The officer said she didn’t have my ROC file and she sent my husband away in a rude manner.
I filed a FOIA request and it just got completed. In the response, it showed that my ROC was transferred to my field office a month before my interview. The officer did not just want to do a combo interview for whatever reason. Also, I saw where they asked if I showed a Good Moral Character and the officer said no. I was dressed properly with pant suit and not inappropriately. I had a total of 5 minutes from start to finish and so I don’t know what could be the problem. She told me my ROC was pending and she didn’t have the file so I should wait but now the FOIA just showed she had it.

Is anyone else getting worried about their case taking so long? I filed for N400 via paper with NOA on October 18 2022, and my case still says it's being "actively processed." I also have my I-751 pending with the note "case updated to show fingerprints were taken." I am discouraged when I see so many others having received their notice to interview already. Could something be wrong with my application?
