YAY we got our interview date!!!! By email they said that it is SEP 6, 07 at 8:00am. Lets hope it is truly that before I put in for days off. I think i'm going to fly down on Sep 5th and come back on the 8th. I'm not really sure on the date of return. I wasn't really sure if I should go because I am saving money to move when he comes up here. What do you all think? We have only been together for 1 year, I have been back to see him 3 so far in the one year and we have talked to each other every SINGLE day for the entire year and have phone records. I have pics, phone rec, frequent flyer miles, passport copies, phone cards, birthday cards, evidence of birthday party that he threw for me when I was there. I mean we have everything that everyone else has and I know he could do it by himself but I just think we me being there it would just be 98% guaranteed! I just started a new job and I really didn't want to take off so i'm stuck in a bind. He feels the same way that I do. He knows that he can do it but it will be tougher without me there. I know you all talk about this regularly but given my cirumstance, what do yo think? I need your advice please! Help!

I would go and be there with him. Not only for the moral support but also to help him get the K1 visa. When my husband went in for his interview the first question she asked him was where I was. He told her outside bc we werent' allowed in. So, she asked him to point me out in the crowd below and she compared the girl he pointed out ie ME with photos he had of us. If you are there then it shows the consulate that you are serious about your relationship. Not that you aren't serious if you don't or can't go but they are always looking for reasons to deny visas. If you are there then not only will you be able to celebrate as a couple and possibly even travel to the US together but you may even be the reason the visa is approved. Especially if there is something else in the interview that concerns them.

I know getting off work with a new job is not that easy and you want to save money. But, once you have him in the states and get married you can eat sandwiches every day for a month and recuperate what you spent. haha That's just my opinion. By the way, of all the people being interviewd for K1 the same day as my husband only two were approved, the two people who had their fiancees with them. Could be just the way things worked out, but maybe not!

AOS approved 7/20/07!!!

Oh good. Are you going down? I'm leaning more towards going then not going. I don't know. I know me and I know that I would have a guilty feeling if I didn't go and he doesn't get it.

Try to go, it would look good for him. If you have a pretty reasonable boss, then talk to him/her about giving you these days. When I first started my job, I had not been home in over a year to see my family. I took the chance and asked for the time off and they gave me with pay, even though I was not yet eligible for any vacation time.

As they say, "nothing beats a trial but a failure"

Congrats on the interview dates ladies!

I am not going as I have obligations here at work not too mention there was a change in date via the Kingston embassy. I am very confident that Marlon will ace his interview whether he has me there or not. The questions I have asked myself before my decision were: Can I afford to go realisticly? Can I afford to take time off of work? Sure my being there would help me and Marlon present our relationship better but as long as we have all that is required he will be just fine! Besides, the worst that can happen is they can say I have to go to Jamaica. Great, no problem, I will be able to take time off during a non-hectic time etc. Whatever you decide is a good decision just don't feel bullied into going as it is not yet REQUIRED for you to be there!

Congrats on your interview date Mrs. Forrester! As far as the medical goes, go to the embassy section of this site and find the Kingston embassy. There is a list of places to call and set up a medical exam. I don't know the K3 requirements though, sorry!

Hey thanks . Yes I'm am half way through the program and it its tough thinking about him, planning my trips to see him in between work and school, trying to file his paperwork, and starting a new job and having to learn all of that stuff. Boy! now that I think about it as I write, it is a lot but he is worth it. In between all of that I think that I'm going to go. Thats my heart and I just don't think I can let him do it by himself. I want it just as bad as he does. I want him here so after everyone's suggestions, I am going to go. Thanks again. Hang in there your at the end...only two more to go.
