The visa Adjudication Process- Flow chart

1. The process starts when the applicant schedules a visa interview.

2. Applicant goes to post

3. Us. Embassy./ U.S. consulate- consular section

4. Applicant is reviewed by consular officer and name entered into CLASS. Applicant interviewed at post.

5. Consular officer deterimines if the applicant is eligible to receive the visa, including using discretion to determine if a security advisory option <SAO> maybe needed: this would include looking on the Technology Alert List < TAL> to see if field/ area of study of applicant falls under TAL.

6. If SAO is not needed then…consular officers decide to issue or deny the visa.<<<< the end >>>> OR

7. If SAO is needed…..then Inter- Agency Mantis check.

8. Security Advisory Opinion prepared and forwarded to post.

9. Consular officer then decides to issue or deny visa to applicant.

Called DOS - still waiting for clearances/fingerprints.

Don't worry everything will be allright 'Inshallah' Pray five times do Zikar of Parwardigar a lot. :star:

Thanks :)

Who did u talk to Omid at the DOS today! I got SUE! DONT ASK!

Psoft I have written several letters to the Congressmen and senators, they help as much as they can. Not discriminating just because I am the benificiary.

I was just surprised that the embassy didnt send Shon a generic email! thats all!

I spoke to a guy - was nice - I think he was new, the voice was unfamiliar, & I didn't catch his name.

Hello Everyone,

I think we need a group hug. LOL I see things have been very interesting lately. I have not had time to come and post but try and read the new posts in between running around trying to do all things. Ishteaq got his ss card so we are off to job hunting now. JP had surgery and still dealing with this and its after effects for 6 more weeks and then another major surgery in the fall.

Denali/Allison, Omid, Shonnie, Michigan all of you hang in there on the AP. There is light at the end of the tunnel just do not know when.

Really good luck to all and I am praying that everyone is reunited with their loved ones soon. And Danika good luck once your processing starts.

HUGS,

Mary :)

So good to hear from you Mary - I miss you :( but I'm sure you're enjoying time away and with your family... tell JP we're praying for him... and good luck w/ the job hunting. Thanks for the encouragement and well wishes... :luv:

Talked to Rochelle at the DOS. She is one of the nicer ones! But unfortunately she didnt have anything to say either. Case is sitll under administrative processing. Even though no more clearances were ordered. The embassy is just sitting on the case.

Even if they have there visa review meeting it didnt help. I swear I dont know what to do! When is this hell going to end?

I am seriously thinking of just giving up on this immigration stuff, asking my wife to move to Pakistan and just start looking for jobs here.

If I were you I would get a job first try to get settle down and then ask my wife to come over. In that way you won’t feel much about this “VISA SAGA”

Life and Immigration two different ‘streams’ let them roll concurrently

May Allah give us all patience Michigan -- insha'Allah you will hear something soon ... have you (or your SO) tried calling the embassy and speaking with a CO to see what the hold up is? Maybe that will give you some insight.

ali. :(

is there something in the water? Javed is thinking the same thing. he is very frustratied. he said there

is no system here just waiting and no answers. He said if the embassy ever calls him he will say.

" give me my dayum passport back" he dont want to come here. I asked him what kind of life is that

for me and him? does he really want me to move to pakistan? what about my education? I am graduating next year so I have to give that up and not attend law school? he said oh god I dont know. this is crazy.

I ask him did he love me? he said of course he loves me. I told him that some how we will get past this stuff. Right now he is feeling so upset. I cant do anything to make him feel better. not a thing. maybe tomorrow he will be in a better mood. :(

it dont help reading CNN the illegals pay some F - up fee to stay here. we all do this the legal way and get told " wait in the corner" while they poke and pride in our lives! This is not fair!!

I think this what prompted Javeds frustration - dayum CNN- SU Gente!!!! grrrr

you both have to cheer up. I know this is very hard. harder because you have been going thought this too

long. but, dont give up and dont give in to the G. Dubyas!!!! (((( huggg)))))))

lol! I wish I could talk to a CO. The Pakistani employees think that they are Gods and never put you through to a CO. Oh well. I have emailed them regarding this.

I was told by a CO in the email that the security clearance is the only thing pending in my case. If they have the SAO now, just give me an answer. So I can go on with my life! Just ridiculous!

My wife's doctor will be providing a letter that my absence is having negative effect on her health and I am the only family she has that can take care of her. I will fax that to the DCG when I get it in the next week.

I agree. takes so much effert to talk to a CO. The best way to talk to a CO - is to come up with a way to make the situation urgent. the hard part is actully having the people answer the phone. they never pick up.

the phone rings for ever  last time I talk to CO I kept saying this

" I am an american, I demand to speak to an american please"

when someone say hold on..

I would say the statement over nothing more til the CO.. comes to the phone.. try it.

I have a medical issue. I have a brain tumor. I never thought of using it for the visa to be expedited..
