Calling everyone going thru Islamabad Embassy, version 2.0

Hello, My I129-F was just forwarded to Islamabad. I want to know how does the process go from here.

Do they contact me? my fiance? or do I call them up?

I was not asked NVC for any kind of fee. Is that normal? they tranfered my case within a week without asking for anything at all.

I received a letter that has a case number for Islamabad. Where and how should that be used?

Soon as the embassy confirms receipt of your case, within a few weeks they will mail packet 3.5 to your fiance with forms to fill out and instructions. It will instruct your fiance to get a police certificate and return the forms along with other documents needed in your instructions. Once those are returned; reviewed satisfactory, they will send a letter stating when the interview date is and you should not schedule the medical no sooner than two weeks prior to the interview. Good Luck with your journey

what's the difference betwen packet 3 and 3.5?

There is only packet 3.5 and 4 , 3.5 is the first packet they send u and 4 is basically the letter telling you when the interview is

Hey Guys,

Does not really belong here, but this thread is where it all started for the hubby and I. I screamed when the email popped up on my screen. Nas thought I won the lottery.

Just under 3 years of my hubby being in the US, his 10 year green card was approved. Finally no more waiting (Until the N-400 in Sept :) )

Good luck to all who are waiting... soon you will be able to wait with your loved ones on the next steps.

Congratulations Laney and Nas,,

You were lucky to go through CSC and not thru VSC with this paperwork. Enjoy your brief break until you file to Naturalize later.

welcome aboard.. good thing is you have everyone here at Visa Journey to commiserate with - it was about 9 months from Marriage to Port of entry for my husband. the waiting was super painful - here is where I tell you not to worry.. but he will most likely get A/P. Ive been on VJ for over 3 years and I dont remember any male pakistani being handed a visa at the interview. Good thing is you are taking the CR-1 route which means it takes longer, but he can immediately get to work and drive and all that fun stuff when he gets here. No waiting for months and months to get EAD and Green card (which can be very frustrating to strong men[and women for that matter]) Once he is here, you'll be so busy, you'll forget about all of the weekends and holidays without him. just talk every day and realize he is just as miserable as you . Be happy and loving each day with him.

there are some really good people on this board, post all your questions, concerns and progress - you'll get answers and support.
