Congratulations Shakira !!!!

The embassy has not answered any of my emails in over a month. I sent an address update a month ago and they haven't confirmed. The Dos still has the old address and told me to update it with the embassy. Ive only sent them 3 emails, since Dec 1 to ask them to confirm and no response even though the address still hasn't been updated. Im so fed up with this process and the bureaucracy u have to go through. I think we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. I been waiting 1/2yr with no word on when i can start having a life like normal people. Sorry Guys just needed to vent. Having a bad day. :ranting:

Browneyed girl,

We went through the same trial and I know exactly what you mean... but now that it's over and we are living like "normal people" in a happy marriage, at times I can't relate to all the depressing emails I wrote to friends and hubby in those horrid days of blackness.

One day it'll be over and you'll be living with your spouse... very soon. Hang in there!

Hey! Guys can I have the number of dos and isl embassy? I need to find out if my passport has been despatched or not

Shakira the embassy has been closed for the Muhurram and will be closed again in a few days for a US holiday. I think they have not had enough time to send out your passport yet

Ofcourse!

Almost all Male applicants get AP and this is very upsetting and disgusting to wait longer.

Well best of luck for all.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desi

Desi (or Deshi; pronounced [ˈd̪eːsi] or [ˈd̪eːʃi], Hindi: देसी, Urdu: دیسی, Punjabi: ਦੇਸੀ, دیسی) is a word originally from Sanskrit literally meaning "from the country" or "of the country". The term "Desi" refers to a person of South Asian heritage, from either India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, or Maldives.

Marry!

Here comes a question rise like u wrote that complete fingerprints mean that"name hit" in their databases,so now everyone has to give their complete fingerprints what it means?

Is this mean all applicants has "name hit"?And how do u see this?

Plz explain!

Plz explain!

Prior to last year all applicants were only asked for their two index finger prints at the interview stage. If they had already had a name hit prior to the interview they were asked to submit all 10 prints. Now they have changed the process so it just means that everyone must submit 10 prints and wait on the normal processing. When you go they run the name and fingerprints and depending on your case the CO will ask for specific security check(s) and this is where the unknown time frame comes since it depends on the number of checks and how long everything takes to clear.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Ok Guys and Girls I need your opinion:

As you all know , once my fiance receives his visa we will be getting married in the US. Im "non-desi" USC and he is pakistani. Of course, he wants the Iman to marry us here at the mosque. I have no problem getting married in the mosque and wearing traditional pakistani wedding dress. I have alot of friends from here of different religions that would like to come to the wedding, but i dont want to impose on them about having to cover in the mosque. We are both open minded and want everyone to feel comfortable.....so my thoughts were, get married somewhere other than the mosque and have an Iman conduct the ceremony at neutral place where everyone will be comfortable, or we could have a private ceremony at the mosque alone and then have a reception to invite everyone. Tell me what your thought are
