Congrats...

Does anyone know which hotel one shall stay in Islamabad and what would be the likely nightly rates one can expect to pay? Also, How much cash shall one have at the time of interview (how much does USEM require for K3?)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Congrats Shakira, my timeline will tell you what "happened with" me :)

SA and BA: I can't suggest a hotel but I suggest you keep $131 for USEM's fee and loose Pakistani cash for the bus ticket (from Convention Center to embassy - I think it was about Rs. 50 per person). You can't take your mobile or bags inside the embassy. There's a counter in that Convention Center place where you can have your mobile and belongings placed and they charge you too (again, I think it's Rs. 50 but can't recall for sure).

We took Pakistani rupees for USEM's fee and while they let you pay in rupees, they overcharge you there. The rate in those was $1 = Rs. 78 and they charged us Rs. 85 against $1. I know it's not such a big deal but why pay them an extra penny, you know...

Glad to see that you are finally here... Thanks for the info and advice, you didn't mention anything about finger printing charges, from the website, I thought they were charging about $80 for FP. Whether or not its going to make any diff. I'll be there w/my wife at the interview, what do you think?

Welcome home, I am sure you are going to love it here once the culture shock and the family sickness is over.

Congrats Shakira, my timeline will tell you what "happened with" me :)

Well when they did not charge any finger print fee.

But you should keep money. And yes dhobee is right take 131$ with u for non immigrant visa fee coz they over charged.

As far as hotel stay is concern i would suggest for u to stay in hotel "Sky ways".This is very clean and good hotel they only charge Rs.500.It is situated oppsoite of Faizabad bus stand .When u will reach there u can ask anybody they will tell u abt it.From sky ways hotel USEM is on Approx 25 mins drive.

I hope it will help!

Best of luck

Sibtain - Thanks.

That's really helpful, as I was looking to make the reservations online and the minimum per night cost was coming out to be $100. Is there a number or website address for Sky ways?

Regards,

SHAH

CR-1 cases have a fingerprint fee that is paid in advance of your embassy visit. K visa applicants must pay their fee on the day of their interview. Dhobee listed some prices and I would follow her advice SA.
