You'll receive Packet 3/3.5 through pak mail and packet 4 from AMEX (they'll call you and ask you to come pick it up from their office). We received the wrong packet 3.5 TWICE from USEM... and then just asked someone on VJ to send us the checklist and mailed that.

When we got the wrong packet the first time, we e-mailed them and asked them to re-send the correct one and they sent the second packet (although wrong again) through TCS (for which we paid 200 rupees).

The best thing is to download the forms and get everything ready (2 passport photographs, DS -156, DS-157, copies of your nikkah nama, birth certificate, notarized Affidavit of support etc). Remember, the sooner you mail in your response to Packet 3.5, the sooner you'll get your interview date, inshAllah.

Sibstain, you have asked on here multiple times how long it takes to clear name checks and received the same answer each time. It can be a day or it could be 2 years. There is no way to say. I understand your situation is difficult but the reality is that we know just about as much as you on how long this will take. Depending on the commonality of your name and other factors, the name check period could be long or short. Repeatedly asking will not help nor will you get a different answer. Revived was just being kind given you already knew the answer before you asked the question.

In general, it is not in your interest to argue with the embassy staff. If you argue with them too much, they will stop responding to your emails. Currently due to Christmas and new years coming up, the embassy is on reduced staff. Responses probably will be slow. If you are concerned about speed, it is advised you continue your I130 through NVC. That way, if that finished before your K3 forms, you can upgrade or just go with that.

Maybe I am very thick in the head but this sure seems like a question about time. The word time is even in the question.

Thank you zayd and revived for remembering me , yes indeed i am alive , i was bit busy coz my ami had surgery and i had to be with her 24 /7 coz nothing is more important than parents ,

zayd you are right according to embassy they received my documents on 4th of november , when i call them last time , one nice decent man talked to me and i told him that its almost 2 months and i havent heard back from your office , he said wait a minute let me send them reminder regarding to your case , i had to hold for like 4 minutes and then he came back on the phone saying i have sent them reminder about your case , please check back with us in the end of this month ,,, i called 2 days ago and case is still pending for medical check up , i am more than sure my passport is in visa deparment coz i know about embassy first they do paper work on your case than update their computers , since in my sitution , they will have to review medical and police report and then stamp visa on my passport , normally medical takes 1 month according to embassy what guy told me stating " you need to give us 4 weeks to check your medical report , coz we have one guy and too much applicants on us "

and one month you should give to your visa , putting your passport again in number i guess , coz of holidays i am sure staff will be reduced so i am hoping visa will be in my hands in the januaury , lets hope and pray for the best coz Allah is the best planner and best helper for all of us ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
