Dhobee i guess the first link is just Immigration whoms AOS are pending Bcuz of AP

"The policy is intended to speed processing for tens of thousands of immigrants with no criminal records who are living in the United States and have been waiting for years for green cards because their names turned up matches in the F.B.I’s records. Often an immigrant’s name hits a match, immigration lawyers said, because the F.B.I. files include a vast range of names, including those of people mentioned in criminal investigations, even if they had no role in a crime. F.B.I. agents must investigate each name match by manual searches of voluminous records.

The previous policy was just stalling adjustment of status for hundreds of thousands of people who posed no security threat, without any demonstrable improvement to our national security,” said Bo Cooper, an immigration lawyer who was formerly general counsel for the immigration service."

and let my finish reading the other one i will post my coment about that in a lit bit

Yesterday, my husband called USEM and they said the passport will be handed over to the couriers within 2 days and they'll deliver in 2-3 days.

Today my husband called USEM again and this time they said we have handed over the passport of AMEX. We called AMEX and AMEX said if the passport had been handed over to them, they'd deliver it the following day but they haven't received the passport because it's not in their system. My husband told the operator what the guy at USEM had said. The AMEX guy said the embassy has probably delivered the pizza (can we start calling it pizza? It sounds more human that way!) to a department within the embassy that deals with couriers, and they could take another 2-3 days to forward it to AMEX.

If they are jerking you around like this, you may want to consider contacting your congressman or senator about making an inquiry. From when you request your elected official to make an inquiry to when they actually do it is about 2-3 weeks (with senators the time frame varies more depending on the population of your state). If in the 2-3 weeks it takes them to make the inquiry you get your pasport, then great and nothing was lost. Otherwise, if you are still waiting in 2-3 weeks (which is unlikely), then you will be glad you went ahead and did it early.
