Thanx Zayd for ur comments.

I m not jumping on any conclusions,

But i have seen in some cases that they do the investigation when the case is about to complete.Coz they have backlog as u know so why they will investigate that case which is not older one.I can understand that investigations has 2 means but i have provided them enough proof and who knows whats going on in thier minds.

Dont u agree with this and speacially we have medical emergency and i sent the expidition request to DOS and as well as USEM.When ever i email to USEM they replied me back after 1 day.

Zayd and Mary,

Calling DOS sounds like a good idea. I'll do that tonight inshAllah.

My husband called USEM today and the woman he spoke to was not rude at all. I guess they've saved up their angriest man for me... hah. The news she gave was... there is a backlog, the visa is ready but it'll take them another fifteen days to send it.

Sibtain,

Home visits/verification calls usually lead to a decision in the near-future, at least that's what I have seen on VJ. I hope your wife is doing better, inshAllah. Call DOS to find out if your other checks are complete.

Sounds like a good idea and hopefully the backlog will clear in a few days.

ybutt20 and live kiss,

Welcome to the forum and I responded to your same post in AP thread ybutt20.

SIBTAIN,

I responded to your thread on the other forum. Zayd is correct that the name checks will be the issue and it is good that they are investigating your marriage and paperwork now while the name is in checks.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

When I call DOS, they always ask me if I am the petitioner. I do not think they will answer question from the beneficiary. It is worth a try but I would recommend you ask your husband to call. That would probably be easier and cheaper for you.

My husband is with me... he's doing something else right now. I am on hold with DOS. Will get him to talk to them once a human picks up inshAllah. Is it normal to wait this long? I've been on hold for six minutes now...

So we called DOS.

The operator first told my husband there's no indication in the record that the visa has been approved.

Then, she said... "Oh wait, wait, wait, my bad, my bad, I was looking in the wrong section... there's a note here that says the visa has been approved, everything has been reviewed. And that's it. Oh no, there's more, it has been printed and placed in the passport and it's just waiting for a courier. I don't know how the courier-service works there. But the important thing is it has been done."

My husband asked her if the note is from today. And she wasn't sure and repeated, "The important stuff has been done already, so she should get the passport soon." (inshAllah).

I guess the lesson I've learned from this is, when the embassy fails you, try DOS. At least she was able to give a little more information than "wait".

I pray all of you who are on AP get to hear something comforting very soon inshAllah. And I pray I get my passport within a couple of days... Ameen.

JazakAllah khair Mary and Zayd for your suggestion.

hi everybody i wanted to post this line from the letter that we received from my wife's senator and ask for some hint about what you think whats they are doing with my case

"The time need for adjudication will continue to be difficult to predict, as nessary new procudure are defined"

what does that mean, does that mean that they are lookin if the marriage is bona fide or what...

anyways my wife will soon start to call DOS and here i read somewhere that someone call DOS and the operator ask if he was the prtitioner and then the operator wasn't that helpful, so should i just ask my wife to call them or i can call there too, basically i just don't want them to think that its only me dying to come to GREAT America and my wife is not doing the followup at all

Walikum Salaam Sister Cindi,

We cannot file for Naturalization until February 2009 when our window opens up. You are correct you can file the N500 while the 10 year card is pending if the window opens before the card is ajudicated. Right now I printed off some information for him to study and he has begun working on his questions. Will Manzar file for his Naturalization?

"The time need for adjudication will continue to be difficult to predict, as nessary new procudure are defined"

ybutt20,

This is just a basic reply frpm their office. They cannot predict how long AP will take and they are just telling you that they cannot give you any time frame. Any marriage that is Desi to non Desi is looked at more closely than Desi to Desi, so they can be checking your marriage paperwork too. Usually this investigation is ongoing while the security checks are being done at the same time in the states. If you read the FAM guides and such it states that their is no time limit for security checks and no one can give you an exact time. In the past cases were running around 6 months and in a very few lucky cases it was shorter. But the shorter cases just means that the names cleared fastly.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.
