Oh ok. Thanks. That's good news.

P.s I got my police certificates without any letter from the embassy. Just needed to tell them it was for immigration. Though the police certificate from the place you live in currently expires after 90 days from when its issued. My father got these for me, I just had to provide him with photocopies of my passport and ID and recent passport size pictures. Also needed to fill out a form that the police station provides.

Ok so I talked to my fiancee...and here is what I found out:

I was a little confused on the ID card. It turns out you do not have to have it translated but she did it just incase it was needed. However, the beneficiary does need to have his/her birth certificate translated and notarized.

Okay,

So what I've gathered is that an attested translation of the ID card is NOT compulsory.

Our new concern is the marriage certificate. We have an original Nikkah nama in Urdu, AND in English (got two of them, for the visa). We sent the English version when filing the petition. Now I just read here that

The marriage certificate for Muslims, the Nikah Nama, is registered with a Nikah Registrar, who is appointed by the municipality, Panchayat committee, cantonment board or union council. The original is always in Urdu, although attested translations may be provided. Because of frequent marriage fraud, many foreign embassies require wedding photographs in addition to the nikah nama or other certificate as proof of marriage.

We're thinking of getting a translation of the Urdu nikkah nama just in case, but who has to attest that? Who attested the translated version of your nikkah nama?

(Again, thank you all for your help).

Our original nikkah nama is in english. We dont have an urdu version. If the urdu version was the original one then we would have had that as well. Our english one is attested by a nikah registrar. we got 4 copies of it, and these are all originals ( we had to sign on 4 copies of the form when we got married ).

And yes you should always bring pictures to the interview of the marriage ceremony and any others of you with your spouse.

Hi all,

Anyone with medical experience can you please help? How can I find out about the vaccination list for Pakistan? Is there one specific to Pakistan only? I am trying to find out what my husband needs to make sure is done before he acutally goes for the medical.

Yes, a copy of the ID card is NOT required. Sorry for the confusion guys. I can't help you on the nikkah nama because our paperwork was for the Fiancee visa.

Regarding the vaccination shots. I am not sure which ones are required. I have heard that they are not needed at the time of the medical because those can be given here in the US when you apply for AOS. I think if you go to the website of the Islamabad Embassy, they have some information regarding vaccinations under their visa services section.

EDIT: Actually there is a general outline of vaccination requirements. Here is a link: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...tml#Vaccination

Anyone else that went the CR1 route have any suggestions on the vaccinations?

I've read you should get the vaccinations done by your own doctor before the medical exam. You can then take these records to the medical.

Has anyone here gotten their medical test done before they received the packet 3? I'm waiting on my packet but it keeps taking long because of all the holidays. I'm hoping if I get everything done now without waiting for the packet then the interview date will be set sooner. Any ideas?

I got my packet 3.5 today. they sent it out on the 30th. got it by regular mail and with the eid holidays delay.

They're asking for so much stuff in response to it. In addition to form DS230, DS156, birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificates, I-134, they are also asking for proof of marriage. Stuff like chat logs, emails, marriage photos, original school records (why?) .

well its confusing since i didnt know proof of marriage things were required before interview. still trying to compile it all together and sending it out tomorrow iA. hope i'm not forgetting anything trying to send it out ASAP.

hope they dont ask for anything else and just schedule the interview asap. I need prayers!

They are asking for secondary proofs before the interview?? As far as i knew you take that w/you during the interview... ? At this stage doesn't marriage certificate suffice a bonafide marriage? It was my understanding that the secondary proofs are to be taken w/you to the interview? Wow.. that is goin' to b a big fat package! are you sure? I say only send ur pics at this time and take the emails etc w/you to the interview

lucks,

Well I sent in as much as I had on me. I didnt want any more delays, so I thought I'd send in everything they were asking for and more.

They asked for proof of relationship such as: wedding and family photos, letters, phone bills, original school records, petitioner's old passports, etc.

I sent them a pretty fat package, include 8 wedding photos, and 14 emails. also sent them school records of mine, I suppose its for identity check. also included copies of my passport and my husbands.

sent it all in today at the american express office (which is a pain to find). they took 600 rs. and said I should get a call within 10-15 days about the interview date. I hope the call would be about the date and not asking for more information.

Interview date 7/28/08

I have emailed the embassy many times to see what is going on with our case and they respond each time telling me to email them again in two weeks. They give me NO answer.

I called DOS several times to see if they have our case. One call they say they do and we are in AP. Next call they say they don't have our case and it is still in Islamabad pending document review.

I have NO IDEA what is going on.

Well I'm on AP since May 5 2008. Nothing so far and still pending. I don't know what the hell they are doing but i think it will be over after election in US.

Any male on K3 (AP) here and since when? someone told me on this forum that there is expedite service but there is nothing like that. I have involved each any every person i could from Senator John Mccain to congresswomen as they are the In-charge of Arizona. No lucky all they say is It's a national security issue and can't be done anything. This is absurd yaar been waiting since last 19 months to go there through proper channel and they are not letting me. I wished i would've used my visit visa to go there and applied.

I lost my job too due to these a***hole. Anyway hope you all get your visa's soon.
