Hi Everyone

Has anyone else gone through AP when thier case got to the NVC? Our case went to Washington for AP as soon as we went to the NVC and wasnt transferred to Islamabad until almost two months later. If your case went to the AP at the NVC, did you also have to go through AP again after your interview was complete? Just curious if anyone else has this happen to them. :)

Salam Folks

i need help yet again.

What happens if k1 visa is granted then u have a religious marriage. Is that okay or no!!!

Please help my fiancée is freaking out!!!

I m compelled to comment on this post:

this action is not only ILLEGAL, but unethcial, and UNISLAMIC. When you take an oath and utilize a particular process that u will only marry in US then you must. a marriage is a marriage may it b a 'religious ceremony' or civil.

Those who do it are not only commiting a CRIME but also a SIN. Moreover Allah command us to keep our promise and abide by laws of any land. God forbid it might reduce the bar'akats from the couple's life. Marriage is a beautiful knot, we must NOT take any risk. Additionally IF EVER that is EVER the USCIS finds out that you have committed this crime, both citizens are subject to deportation.

I apologize if i have offended anyone by this msg, but i m deeply sadden at this, then we sit and cry to Allah SWT why our duas r not accepted? I had to voice my opnion.

I am not critisizing any1 in particular and i m sure nor any1 is intending to do any such acts here , but this is just my opnion on this matter

ma'sallam n duas

I found this on VJ it has Clarification on the subject : "religious ceremony/marriage"

4.11)...My alien fiancee has been issued a K-1 visa. Can we get married abroad and then come back together to the US with the K-1?

A...No. The alien must NOT be married when s/he enters the US on a K-1 visa. Also, if using the K-1, the couple must marry in the US within 90 days of the alien entering on the K-1.

(FAQ Note: Some couples arrange to have a non legal ceremony prior to the fiance(e) leaving their home country, in order to satisfy the wishes of family, or to have a celebration if the family is unable to travel to the US for a wedding.

Mr. Righteous “this action is not only ILLEGAL, but unethical, and UNISLAMIC"

You should do your research before you make those bold comments.

Reason Pakistan is behind because of people who over righteous and uneducated.

May Allah open your mind & heart and bless you. :innocent::whistle:

4.12)...Does the government, for visa purposes, distinguish between religious and civil marriages?

A...The government distinguishes between legal and non legal marriages. If the marriage is legal in the country in which it is performed, the US will consider it a legal marriage. It doesn't matter if it is a civil or religious marriage.

My husband had his interview today and it appears to me that it didnt go very well. It was the black man and he ask him maybe 2 questions. The last question was has your wife taken any money from you for immigration purposes? Then he told him he was putting him on AP and would call him back in 2 months. I dont think any amount of money would be worth this bull #######. Are they kidding? Anyway I have a feeling this is gonna be quite a wait for us. I am thinking maybe a year or two. There was another man there also that had an interview and he didnt even ask him one question he just put him on AP also and said they would call him in 2 months. What is messing us up is because I had put in a petition for another person a couple years ago and I broke it off because i suspected fraud on his part. Now they think I am taking money for this i guess. My question is, I am going there in November . Do you think the embassy will let me in to follow up on our case? I plan on emailing them and telling them I will be there at that time and hopefully they can give me an appointment to talk to a consulate.

Another thing is my husband had all kinds of proof but they never asked to see anything. I think he froze up because he should of told them what he had. But i cant blame him for that , those people can sure make you feel nervouse when they dont believe you. I guess all I can do is focus on my visit to see him this November.

Ladies and Gents,

Wanted to inform you that my wife had her interview this morning and her visa is approved. The CO kept her passport, gave original docs back and told her she will receive her visa/passport in 10-15 days via Amex. She got to the embassy around 7Am. The first person was a Pakistani guy asked her a few questions and collected docs:

CO - how tall are you?

Her - 5'8"

CO - you sure?

CO - Let me c your husband pictures. Is he as tall or taller?

Her - yes a couple of inches taller and she showed a picture or two

CO - what’s your full name and your husband full name

Her - xyz

The 2nd person was an American white CO:

CO - how tall are you?

Her - 5'8"

CO - what is your and your husbands full name data of birth

Her - xyz

CO - what does your husband do?

Her - xyz

CO - when was the last time you saw him

Her - wedding time

CO – ya. you look like a newly wed.

CO - do you belong to any terrorist organization?

Her - do I look like I do?

They both laughed

CO - congrats your visa is approved, we will keep your passport and send you the visa via AMEX in 10-15 days.

So that was the whole interview no proofs no docs, no bills and she was out by 11am. She said both CO's were very pleasant. Here is her experience outside of her interview:

None of the males were given visa and they were repeatedly interviewed in details. She also noticed candidates’ scrutinized more when their sponsors for AOS were someone other than the petitioner.

I really want to thank everyone here for their help. Would definitely keep up with this site to help others going thru the journey. I deeply wish everyone here gud luck, especially, Aisha, Revived and others suffering from the painful process of AP.

Thanks
