Calling everyone going thru Islamabad Embassy, version 2.0

Hi guys,

Just wanted to report that I called DOS today...........to check on my husbands AP & see if it has been started. The lady I spoke to was so very nice ( Stephanie) .....unlike the one on Friday that I spoke with, who was RUDE!!!!!!!!

Anywho.........His file was just received today in Washington ( she was like we got the file on the 4th and said .....Oh today is Aug 4th) !!!!!!! She said that the checks can take anywhere btwn 4 wks to 6 mths and I was like okay .....thank you

So, AP has started and we still need to resubmit (2) documents and insha allaah ......he will be given his visa .......insha allaah insha allaah insha allaah!!!!!!

Congrats, seems like you finally got some good news.

I just got off the phone with DOS and the lady wasn’t very helpful…she said her systems were down and even if they were up she couldn’t tell me why my wife’s case went into AP or any other specific information.

Yes, that was wonderful news!!! At least I know that it has started and we don't have to wait till the documents are turned in before it could get started YAYYYYY!!

I know that the lady I spoke to last week was a B****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was very rude and well........I know that she was able to tell me about what papers we needed to resubmit to the embassy. She was like >>> The CO is the one that makes the final call on who gets the visa B**** ( sorry but true)

Now the one that I spoke with today.......she was very pleasant and I just hope when I call back.......I will have another one just like her.

I would just try back and pray for a nice lady/or man that would be willing to help.

Sorry to repost this guys, can someone please help!

I have posted about my wife's interview exp before but had a quick question. Her interview was on 7/10, she wasn't given a pink or blue slip and wasn't told anything about AP. Now when I call the embassy or DOS they say that her case is pending final review by CO. They assured me that there are no security checks pending for her so I am pretty sure she is not AP but on conulate level AR. With this being a busy summer season for them CO may not be able to get to the case files quickly since their priority at this time is to review the visitors visas first.

Has anybody gone through this? How long does it take? I have sent 3 emails to ISL consulate, no response. Any suggestions what I can try?

I have seen on cases that go through AP are placed on consulate level AR once DOS completes the checks but our case is on AR from the beginning.

Hey Aisha,

Sorry to hear about yr husband case put on AP. Just be strong and time and will go on. We do understand what u going through but its time of not to be in stress or tensions, its time to nail then up. I have been on AP since May 5 2008 and i have been calling regularly here in Islamabad and Washington but no lucky. I've tried to involve senator and congressman and what i got in response from them was "Its a matter of National Security and we cant interfere in that" Its just useless trust to involve anyone. Just wait for the right time and keep calling them until they are completely bugged.

So hang in there.

I am soooooooooooooooooo glad to share that my wife was issued the CR1 visa on 8/1/08. She got a call from American Express today to pick up the visa. She picked up her passport and visa packet few hours ago. I never thought this day would ever come.

Thank you so much to everybody who has helped me through this journey and answered sometimes my nonsense questions. I would still help whoever I can, I may not visit VJ as often as I used to but don't hesitate to send me an email.

w/c aboard on the AP journey ! ... may Allah SWT make it easy for us all! I guess it's an opportunity to practice our sab'r It has been 8mons, wa'Allah the visa news at times seems like a dream LOL.. but i guess from an optimist view, it's an "opportunity" to practice our patience.

If she had the xray done as part of her medical, yes she should take it to the embassy. Its always a good idea to take extra stuff if you are not sure. Better safe than sorry. Hope this helps!

Has anyone contacted DOS either today or yesterday? I’ve called and both times they’ve told me that they can’t access any data from an overseas embassy do to some computer issues. Just want to see if anyone else if getting this info also?
