I posted this in the forum, (IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa General Discussion ) but nobody has posted any comments.........anybody???

thanks

Aisha

hello VJr's

Just something that I have been thinking about lately. I have been here for awhile now and finally my husband has an interview date for July 31st. , BUT I have been so stressed out, anxious, and have had all sorts of emotions....about this coming to an end and finally being in the arms of my husband and starting our future together.

I sent him last week every lil piece of paper that was collected during this whole process ( yes i have made copies of what was sent to him). I just don't want any of the officers to have any reason for well ""You know"" , to give us bad news

Of course, we are not celebrating just yet, because who knows what is going to happen on July 31st. I know that he will be put on AP, but just praying not for a long period of time, but not sure of how all of that name checking works

So, could someone please explain how the name checks work again. I think that I have read before, but idk.. I am really stressed out over this whole name check stuff. I have seen so many on AP for over 6 mths and I think to myself>> WHY SO LONG omg

I know they have to through different databases, but still that is tooo long.

Just stressin out guys

Aisha

AA,

Hang in there babez=) u'll b fine inshAllah.

Well, from what i've observed it depends on the gender, nationality, and common name of individuals. There are various databases that the agencies have to verify from, and if a common name they have to manually check. I think there is a post (beginning) on this forum that lists several checks one must go through.

You are v fortunate that now this process has been expedited, and USCIS has posted a press release on their website regarding eliminating such backlogs inshAllah.

Don't stress out or get frustrated, what is to happen, will happen and only when Allah SWT wants it.. inshAllah v soon. Allah SWT has a predetermined time for everything, may it b in near future for u inshAllah. Stressing won't help anything, as they say hope for good, good will happen to u=)

Since you 've been of great assistance to this forum, we pray that may Allah SWT assist you in your journey ~Ameen

M'asallam

re: the address where to go for the interview in Islamabad.

HI' All,

I was looking at the letter and the address they provide on the letter is:

Embassy Of The United States of America

Diplomatic Enclave, Ramna 5

Islamabad, Pakistan

Is this the address where the beneficiary needs to arive. Or some where else?

Hi Aisha,

Well be relax and pray for good. It's a process through which everyone male has to go through i guess and you have to believe that holding Pakistani passport and being in Pakistan is painful then you have ever imagine when it comes to getting a Visa or Immigration.

Its been a while you have been here helping everyone on this forum providing information when we needed it the most, you were the only source. It's natural when it comes on yourself and that you feel helpless along with being apart for your love ones.

Trust me the impression i got when i was at the interview was like ok it's just a piece of cake i'll get the visa right away but its totally different. Don't take me wrong that i'm making you more worried, but the fact is when you know the truth it's easy to handle the situation saying that i knew he will be put on AP.

Being relax is the key to success in every field of life to handle situation better. Just pray that's all we can say, which is true, rest is in the hands of allah.

Here are some good information on AP/AR for your review. I hope you will find it helpful.

Salaam again everyone. I have yet another question.

I'm going through the I-129f way. I was wondering about which form my fiancee needs to fill out. There's the DS-230 and then the DS-156 and DS-156K. From what I'm understanding, she does not need to fill out the DS-230, but does need two DS-156 forms and one DS-156K. Is that correct?

Hi' All,

I have tried this website to call Pakistan. I registered by entering my personal info and credit card but it gave me an error page stating that it can set up my account. Then I called the customer service and they state that their hours are 9-5pm.

am just hoping that they dont use my credit card and charge money. Just be careful before using this site

Hi guys. How is everybody doing? I am sorry I wasn't able to post this sooner. I know couple of people were waiting for me to post my wife's interview experience at ISL. Here it is:

My wife had her CR1 interview on 7/10. She was in line at the convention center at about 6:45, made it to the embassy between 7:30-7:45.

They took her interview letter at the door. Not sure when exactly she was called to the first window but they just asked her simple questions about why she is there, didn't ask for any document.

She was called for the second time and they took her fingerprints.

She was called for the third time to a Counselor Office window. She said her interview with the CO was very smooth, he asked very general questions such as her name, my name, our wedding date, thats about it. He asked for only one document, copy of marriage certificate, didnt ask for pictures, police certificate, nothing. My wife said the CO wasn't even white, it was a Pakistani guy, he interviewed her in Urdu but his Urdu wasn't very goody. So maybe he was an expat.

Well, after the interview he congratulated my wife and told her everything is all set and she can pick up her passport after about a week or so from courier's office and gave her a token.

She wasn't given any blue or pink slip and wasn't told anything about AP. But, here is the sad part, today is 7/25/08, her passport still hasn't been returned.

I called the ISL embassy on 7/22, they said they had some system issues and were not able to issue visas to people for about a week or so and we can expect it within few days or next week, I am not sure if I really buy that but whatever. Still no mention of AP.

I called again today 7/25, different person answered the phone, didn't say anything about system issues but said MAYBE 7-10 but no exact date, still no AP.

I am really stressed and nervous, I don't know what the hold up is, not sure if its AP or something else. What I have seen with other cases if they keep your passport, its not AP. If you are put on AP, your passport is returned and you are asked to submit it when AP clears and I think they won't say 7-10 on the phone if the person is in AP because nobody can predit the timing. I believe people on AP are not given the token to pick up the passport from courier's office either.

The operator on 7/25 wasn't very helpful, he kept saying wait 7-10 days and then call back if you don't get the passport, not sure what to make of that.

So I guess this is a good news and bad. Please comment if you have seen a similar situation. I am very nervours and don't want her to fall inot the black hole of AP/AR.

Thanks!
