Salaam Everybody,

We finally made it to the embassy stage. I just sent all my documents to my fiance this week that he needs for his interview . He should be receiving Packet soon.

By the way, DHL was a nightmare. They couldnt believe I had 7lbs worth of documents. I said you never been through immigration or you would understand.

Walikumsalaam.....

Congrats on getting to isl embassy.

I will be sending my husband our whole I130 packet that i sent originally for our CR1 journey, plus a few other things for his interview

How was DHL a nightmare? PM me if you get a chance and let me know what they needed to know :) so I can get our stuff together to send on over to Qasim.

Best of Luck and your in my prayers

Aisha

Hi All,

My fiancee's interview was on May 13th, 2008 and she got approved. They gave her a red slip and the visa officer told her to come back on May 15th for her visa. She was very nervous, but with the help of Allah everything went smooth. She was only interviewed by an American visa officer and he asked her a few simple questions.

1. Who is your petitioner?

2. Where does he live? Give full address

3. What does your fiance do?

4. When was engagement? and where it took place?

5. When was the last time you saw your fiance?

My fiancee is fluent in english, so she had no problem except she was nervous.

I just want to take my time to thank all the people here in this forum specially Gohar for his help answering alot of my questions. Gohar, I hope your fiance get her visa soon, Insallah.

Taufik Hidayat

Congrats Taufik! glad I could help! Best of luck on the rest of the journey!

Unfortunately, I am still on AP!

Hope to have an approval soon!

hello zorro,

We didn't use any shortcuts either and If you look at our timeline, you will see when NVC sent us all our generated items. Yes, NVC will send you the coversheet with barcode for the DS230.

Well, our checklist was sent out on May 1st per automated system (due to missing info) , so that is when I called NVC on 5/5/2008 due to it said that documents were "Missing". I thought it had to do with our AOS ( I864) but the lady told me no, it was complete and all they were waiting on was the DS-230 and supporting documents. I would say around 7-10 days you "should" receive your DS230 info and if NOT then call NVC to check on it.

I hope this helps

Aisha

Help me get this straight please.......

Once our case is complete at NVC, ( which should be soon) hopefully in the next week or so......insha allaaah!! So, If our case is complete in MAY........Then the second week of June they should schedule an interview date,( what month do you think.....July?) then our case will be sent to embassy, but when will he be able to get his medical done? About how much does that cost or does it depend on the area he lives in?

The way I understand it is that NVC will send out the interview letter with date and time, also....does that include medical info as well??

I am just trying to get some info together, so I can give him a heads up about it. Sorry for so many questions......

Thanks

Yes, most likely interview would be setup for July because June is closed already. You'll receive the copy of the interview letter too. The medical is best done 15 days or 1 week prior to interview. I don't know the cost at this moment, but I'll find out in few days.

Good luck!

Hello everyone,

Got another questions, seems like I come up with one everyday:) About the Police certificate for my wife and her K3 visa, what are the procedures, is it just done in the police office or do the police come to the home and do periodic checks? does my wife have to go to the station? how long does it take to get a Police certificate?

Hi Elijah,

I can only tell you from my husbands experience on getting his done. He had to fill out an application from the police station, so they could run a check on him. He turned that in along with a passport photo and in a few days, he had it done. He is in the Rawalpindi area, so not sure if different areas have different processes?? Does anyone else know that has gotten their police report done? I know that no police came to his home there and did any checks on him.

I do know that his was only good for 90 days!!

Hope this helped some

Hi Elijah,

Its very simple one day process, go to the SP office wher you would get a lot of people who sells the Officials papers.Get one paper of rs 20 rupees and write on it that you live at this address and no case has ever been registered against you with local police station. And nothing is under hearing against you at any court. Then sign it.

Go to the superintendents of police office record room branch, and get the application form the clerk will sign it and stamp too.

Then you would go to the local police station at your area .Yours personal appearnce is necessary.Take the national id card with you and your passport .After this go back to the SP office with that paper. And get the printed police certificate paste your photo on it.

then personally appear infront of DPO and then SP. yours case is ready.

dOCUMENTS NEEDED.

1. 20 RUPEES OFFICIAL PAPER(ASTAMP PAPER) OR AFFIDAVIT PAPER

2.pHOTOCOPY OF YOU PASSPORT AND ID CARD.

3POLICE STATION STAMP AND SIGNED APPLICATION FORM.

4.TWO PHOTOS

5 PRINTED pOLICE CHARACTER CERTIFICATE.

6INTERVIEW INFRONT OF D.P.O AND SP.

This is told by my wife.
