Sure has been quiet here for a few days...........

Any new updates from anyone??

I just sent out our I-864 package and still waiting for the Cashiers Check to be cashed for our IV bill.....*sighs*

I have Qasim filling out the DS230 and getting the documents ready to be sent to me, so I will be ready once that time comes ( I hope sooooon, insha allaah)

Question.....>> Once case is completed @NVC ( hopefully sometime in May) how long would it take for the ISL embassy to contact him and an interview to be set up? (just a ballpark timeframe..... Thanks)

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing weekend

Aisha

It seems it normally takes about 2-3 weeks for them to transfer the case from NVC to ISB Embassay and then depending on the workload they contact the beneficiary. InshaAllaah he'll be hear from them soon. May Allaah make it swift. aameen.

Aisha if I may ask, will you be going for James shortcut? If yes, then would you tell me how your husband will obtain his police certificate? I am in KHI and our petition has just been approved alhumdulillaah. Now we seem all set for the NVC but I do not have the P.C. and the police will not issue one without the letter from NVC which of course would delay things. I will appreciate if you can advice as to what I should or if there can be some other way to obtain one?

Thanks and all the best to you,

Sara.

Sara,

Wishing you all the best on your journey. But a word of caution do not attempt to get the police certificate too early. Depending on the providences in Pakistan some are only good for 3 months, some 6 months and a few one year. If you get it too early before the interview they can deny it, or if you happen to go into AP it will expire and they will ask for a new one before they will issue the visa. Just a heads up.

Mary

Hello sara,

No, we are not using the shortcuts, but Qasim did get his police report due to now you have to send that along with the other documents to NVC along with the DS230. ( at least that is what I read and understood it to be) >> http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html

Well, my husband filled out an application and I know that his brother helped him with it somehow, so he did get it and it is good for 90 days. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Best of Luck on your journey @ NVC

Aisha

Hi All,

My fiance had interview today at ISL and all went well. She was asked only two questions about how we met and when did she see me last time. They did not look at any proof of relationship and told her that everything is good. They kept her passport and told her she will get it back in 10 days.

Thank you all for your support. Now few things .. I have been reading about sealed envelop that apperantly embassy sends with the passport. wots that about? wot is it?It is all the original paperwork that was filed from the beginning of your filing till the interview approval. You give it to the POE officer and they put in on file in the states for when you adjust status. 2nd.. Is it ok travel with your fiance to US after she gets her visa? Yes, you can travel with her if you wish.

Asalaam alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa bakatuh,

Nice to know we are not alone in this process. Our case is now at NVC and I had a question to set expectations once we get to Islamabad Insha'Allaah. What is usually the time between NVC sending case to the embassy and the actual interview? I was looking at previous years and it has been as long as six months for CR-1/IR-1 visas. Does anyone have a sense from more recent filings?

Congratulations and it should not be too long before your case is in Islamabad. K1s are usually in and out of NVC really quickly.
