I am curious to know when your interview was, where was it, and did they take your passport at that time.

Dear my interview was 15-sep-07 in Riyadh [saudi Arabia] and at the day of interview they told me that my wife's financial support is not enough i need to find a CO-Sponsor or I should show them the liquid Asset worth 22,000 $, they also wanted my wif's orignal divorce decress and Proof of relationship. They told me that I dont need to come in person to embassy to submit these documents I can submit all these documents by mail along with my passport, so I again appeared in the embassy after a week and submitted all those required documents

Orignal Divorce Decrees

Proof of Relationship

Proof of Liquid Asset showing 30,000$ (Bank Statement)

I submitted all those documents along my passport and now 1 month is over since I submitted passport....I dont know how much time it will take more to get this process done...

Did you (or your wife) send them an email asking for a status update?

hello everyone,

reccently I emailed the ISB embassy inquiring about my husband's visa status because they told my husband to contact them 4wks after the his interview date which was august 28, 2007.

well this is all I got frm them today:

""Dear Sir/Madam,

A consular officer has reviewed your immigrant visa application and has determined that additional administrative processing is required before we can complete your case. The time that this processing takes will vary on a case-by-case basis. Once we have completed this administrative processing, we will continue with your visa application. If your case is otherwise complete, and you have opted to have your passport, visa and documents returned by courier, the courier service will contact you to arrange for delivery. If you have opted to keep your passport, we will contact you to let you know when to come to the Embassy to drop it off, and will then return your visa by courier.

\I hope this information will be helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you required any further inquiry.

Thanks & best regards""

AP from Islamabad is the security checks, a background check, if married to rule that it is legitimate, if you stated you were not married to rule out that you are not hiding a marriage from the USC, security checks that involve your education or job (science, etc), and an overall check on the validity of your information that was submitted for your visa such as name, family, travel history, and the new check to rule out that you did not give any funds from you or your family to help terrorists. There is no way to determine how long it will take and the response is what most persons get when first asking for a status update from the consulate. Good luck on your AP finalizing soon.

This information is from the FAM:

Those of us on AR/AP for more than six months should read this. We all have this option if the embassy is delaying the visa unreasonably.

http://www.bastapinoy.com/immigration_visa...C_070711008.htm

Most people think that filing a lawsuit can go against them, but it is not true. I have checked the whole docket of this case at PACER. You can subscribe to PACER.

http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/

You can also file the WOM (Writ of Mandamus) on your own if you do research and know what to do. Here is a great forum for all the help you need

http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=194681

I am not saying that everyone on AP/AR should file a lawsuit. All I am saying is that if you are on AP/AR for more than a year and it is causing problems in your relationship and in your life, then, you have this option.

And by the way, I think you all know that this security checks (long delays) are only for IV from certain countries. If you have a business visa and if you are rich and need a visit visa, they do that very fast much quickly.

I personally know some people in Pakistan who get their visit visas within a month. Why?? Because they are extremely rich!! The great example of this is Petition for Alien Worker that gets approve usually within a month or two and all of us need to wait for years to get along with our loved ones. But, indeed, these are the people who really need screening. Infact, just like everything else in this society, this whole immigration process or rather drama is all about money rather than National Security.

Good Luck to all!!! Regards, kim

I think Saudi Arabia and others like Myanmar's that are in unrest all endure this and that the climate changes so often now that they are not always in the government printed publications. I even say that with the unrest that was going on in Morocco with all the cafe bombings a few months back may of effected their processing as well.

Hang in there everyone and the embassy is working on cases slowly. Pain07 and DDX had long journies and they finally got their visa in hand after a long process.
