:(

Javed called the embassy- I was hoping he did not find out about the security checks. he got the brunt of the news - they told him 30-90days. so he is very upset :( nothing we can do.

This just sucks! They just want to drag it out over and over again don't they! Hang in there Shon, go visit your sweetheart...it will give you something to look for until this nightmare is over for you!

Hugs to ya!

ok here goes.. it was pointed out to me that. we did not have another interview on the CR1.

that really although we have security checks < 1 ordered > that is good news. because, we could have been placed on AR after an interview and apprently at this point interviews are being sloted for July.

so cutting to the chase. its better to face one more check now versus July. so looking at things from that perspective we are able to cope with this year long AR/AP hell. one other perspective is maybe the checks wont take as long. the man at the embassy said 30- 90days he really dont know. last time we had our case at DOS it took less than 90days.

What I was trying to say with the interview thingi was that Shon. You should be happy, the CO reviewed your file and issued a security check.

Usually when a CO recieves a file they issue interview and after the interview the SCs are ordered. But I guess since you had your K-3 interview the officer went ahead and ordered SCs without interview.

So basically instead of going through the interview (you get a date in three months) and then again it takes another three months for security clearance. That means you wont be able to see your husband October. But this way you have a good chance to be done till June/July. Depending on how long the SCs take. Hey they might be even done quicker because urs have been done once because of k-3.

I am so disheartened by this immigration process.. Its not even funny.. I called the embassy today.. I actually wanted to talk to a CO but the lady on the phone was so rude and is like NO YOU MAY NOT TALK TO A CO. Which was fine if she was able to help me.

The rude lady is like you emailed to the 3rd didnt you? I am like yes and I got a general response that I am going through AP. She is like well thats the same thing I can tell you.

I told her that the Visa services department told me that the SAO was forwarded to Islamabad on the 21st (She laughs at me, like I am making this up myself). At this point I am getting angry at her and tell her that if she does not believe me I can forward a letter from the senator's office stating that. She is like well that is not going to help.

I am like well what am I suppose to do? The Visa Service department at the DOS is saying one thing and the embassy is saying one thing. Obviously if the SAO is forwarded to Islamabad electonically something is wrong and I want to address this matter.

She is like well there is NOTHING you can do. If you want you can email a CO and they MIGHT respond.

Right now I am just disgusted with the rude employees working at the embassy. They dont care, they dont have any passion in their hearts. I guess, I will call the senator and congressman's offices and have them talk to the embassy on my behalf.

I am not contacting the embassy anymore till they send me a letter or something..

hello everyone! i hope you and your SO's are doing good!

i wanted to update you all on our visa journey so far...

first off, my husband had his K3 visa interview April 7, 2006. at the interview, they didn't ask him many questions, it seemed like they were more worried about his paperwork being in order. they told him all his paperwork was complete except for the co-sponsor's 2005 tax forms! i guess he passed the interview, and has gone through the hard part, because he left the embassy with the CO telling him that he will placed under AP/AR. now the real long wait begins!!

is there anything i can do from here at this point to speed up the AR/AP process? send an email and/or letter to my local congressman? that's the only thing i can think of that would help speed up the process at this point :(

it seems like there are some members on this forum that have been waiting a long, long time (almost 6 months) and haven't gotten through AP/Ar yet!!! that is unbelieveable!

back to the issue with the tax forms.... iwould some of your opinions on my thoughts against the embassy:

first off, my husband gave them 2003, 2004, AND 2005 tax forms when he got there. i thought that they only needed the previous YEAR's tax forms, not the previous THREE YEARS tax forms for K3 visa? also, since the tax filing deadline for 2005 tax year had not been reached at the time of the interview (i believe the deadline to file 2005 taxes is april 17, 2006) how caould they even ask for 2005 tax forms?

my husband may had just frozen up when they asked him for the 2005 tax forms. however, he's not the type to argue with anyone so he just shook his head when they told him he needs to bring the 2005 tax forms with him next time he makes a visit to the embassy. however, if i was with him it would have probably turned ugly!!

my husband had made copies of everything he took to the interview. when he got home, he checked to see if he had any copies of the 2005 tax forms. sure enough, he had made copies of them so he is certain that he handed those tax forms to them!! it's no big deal i guess, he just needs to bring those forms with him when his AP/AR is sucessfully complete and he revisits the embassy.

regards,

molly

Wow!!! Reading these posts seems like going through a time machine. All the issues we faced last year are still around ... It's been a long time since I've posted ... just wanted to say hello to everyone. It's been 8 months since my wife came here. The whole immigration process seems so long ago ... For those of you just now going through it and waiting for your spouses, cheer up - there is light at the end of the tunnel :D It may not seem like it now, but once you're reunited with your spouse, all of this will fade away until AOS time anyways.

Salaam alay kum,

I am sorry to hear all these horror stories. I am affraid of even going to that embassy for my wife's interview for the k3 visa. our interview is on April 28th inshallah and i cant wait but i am scared.

Inshallah, as smush said, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and time will pass and everything will be okay for all of you and me as well.

Isnt there a complaint form that people can file. I think if enough people file these complaint forms against the islamabad embassy, they will do a little better. michigan you are right it seems these people have no hearts. are they american or pakistani people working there at the emabassy?

i have a question, When inshallah my wife passes the interview and get the visa on her passport, will we get the passport back the sameday? so then i can book her ticket and she can come home with me.

Salam,

Everyone cheers!!! I know it is hard but we are all mature adults and we have to face all this. One of my friend’s AR completed last week after almost 100 days but they filed DCF and both of ‘em are desi (girl born and raised in US but her parents are from Pakistan i.e. ABCD married to Desi). It seems to me and one of lawyer in our South East Texas Pakistani muslim community has confirmed that a marriage involves multi faith/race/culture (for example Caucasian girl & Pakistani Muslim guy) has to passed strong a security (AR/AP) as compare to one faith/race/culture (desi guy/desi girl) marriage.

So my friends if you are unfortunately in the first category then be patience your day will be come soon (inshallah)

Well the people who answer the phones are Pakistanis and have bigger attitude problems than perhaps the ambassador himself. Americans do not answer phones. If you want to talk to them, they dont talk to you until there is a dire emergency.

Rmash,

The probability whether embassy deliver the passport same day is 70/30. US embassy Pakistan used AMEX to receive and deliver passport. In normal cases they deliver password within one week.

Inshallah everything will be all right..

I am gonna vent!!! SU GENTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry :( Javed experianced the same thing what happend to people at the embassy trying to show respect and dignity? I think they need to be nice to us all. there is no reason for them to be mean and hateful. not when we are having our life placed in their hands, its not right. even crimnals get better respect in jail!! SU GENTE. we did not do anything to be treated so dayum harshly.

The embassy can show a little compassion. they dont have to give us details. but, if we are saying this or that they can at least verifiy, they can at least say projected time will be this.. not this canned response #######. its doing nothing when other govement agencys are telling us more information. they treat us like we are stupid. no one is stupid they need to stop trying to insult us.

I feel like there is no system but, what else is new. they need to make this process a little more stream lined. have a way for people to know they will processed fast. allow us to take advantage of the family life act. each one of us are covered under the family life act - they USA goverment wont allow us to excercise our rights!!! SU GENTE!

there is no way in the world this processs should take 1, 2, years no way. the K3 was designed to allow us all to be reunited til the green card stuff is processed. but, NO we have to watch our love ones cry and have their hearts break beause they rather keep us all apart. ####### for? what crime have we done? the crime of falling in love we get dammed for it. SU GENTE!!!!

end of shonnies venting. - your turn!!

Con,

right now AR/AP can last 17 days - 2 years.

I dont know anyone that is a male that had AR/AP less than 17 days. in our case we have been placed on

AR/ AP - 2 times. once our security checks cleared on Jan 13th. they put us back on it April 6th. :(

in this process expect your husbands family to have a FIELD Investigation. its seeming more comon now.

we have 2 field invesigations. :(
