yeh Hafiz! Actually I have been there several time since I have been here. As I am only 2 hours from the border and have family in Toronto. The Canadian Border people are nice. I have to get special registeration done at the US border post and that sucks! Not only the American custom people at the Detroit or the Port Huron Border rude but take forever for NSEERS registeration.

Oh well. I guess I have to deal with this till I get my permanent residency!

today my husband received a call from the embassy asking whether he has ever been to malaysia/indonesia etc and whether this is his 1st pakistani passport. he answered no and yes. then she said you're still on administrative review and your case is being processed. what does all this mean?

probably means that there is a person who has a similar name as your hubby's and they wanted to make sure if it was not the same person. I think they will further investigate to make sure. Hopefully you will hear something soon!

OK! I just called Islamabad Embassy and they told me that my husband's visa was approved yesterday (the day they called him and asked all those questions). It will be printed and stamped within a day or two and will be sent out to him this week. Is it still too early to celebrate?

great...

okay I have a question guys.

My dads file has been at the DOS since early June 2006... whenever I call the DOS the only response I get is... "its still processing"

they NEVER give me more information and claim there is none. What is up with this!?

canuhandleit it means that whatever agency doing the the security clearance has not responded to the DOS's request to do the clearance, all they can do is follow up the request ( to which usually the agencies do not respond according to my experience).

Canuhandleit, all i can advice you is to wait, patiently and not to stress yourself out, believe me, i have been through this myself, i now think I was lucky that my clearance was done in a year. I know its ridiculous, but thats how it is!

It's not possible. I need to goto college man, I have to go! It's about my whole life. If my dad doesn't get back in time, what the hell am I suppose to do? It's stressful.

Is there any person I can talk to who will let me know more. Atleast who will let me know what agency it is at?
