Hello everybody, I am planning on visiting Lahore, Pakistan in February. Was wondering about getting a visa for Pakistan. Does anybody know a good agency I can trust to get my visa? Or did you send your passport directly to the embassy of Pakistan in washington? I am kind of nervous about sending my passport in the mail.

When I got my visa in Feb 06, I visited the Houston Counsulate asked questions, but thought since I would be in Chicago prior to leaving, I would apply there. Well, the Chicago Counsulate wouldn't accept my papers because I wasn't a resident of the states they service so I ended up overnighting with postage paid return evelopes per their instructions through the USPS ONLY everything to Houston where they processed it and returned it in a timely manner with a visa. So it depends on where you live on where you should send it. Yes, it is nerveracking having the postal system take your passport, but the tracking numbers helped me watch it's progress as well as calm my fears of it being lost.

Can anybody also tell me about Lahore airport? Is it a good airport? Did you have any problems with customs? Do they speak english at the airport? I am nervous about going becouse this is only my second time out of the u.s.a and my first time going to Pakistan. I would appreciate any info that anybody might have. Thanks

Yes, they do speak English at the airports. I've only come and gone through ISB. I wasn't bringing through a large amount of stuff- just normal luggage for a 3 month stay. Compared with others who were arriving with large bags and plenty of luggage, I wasn't looked at or stopped. I just walked out to be greeted by my sweetie at 11 pm which wasn't as bad as arriving at 4 am the previous trip.

Good Luck.

Thank you for responding. I am in Alaska so not sure where i would apply for Pakistan visa. I assumed all visas were processed in Washington. Maybe i will just have to go through one of those agencies online.

When i got my visit visa to go to PK i sent my passport to the consulate in chicago i believe, they gave me visa and sent it back within two days, however i was following it on the tracking through USPS and they lost it! i waited a few days longer for the post office to find it and finally send that to me, you can imagine how much i was freaking out, they said that it probably was dropped on one of their loading areas. Anyway, i got it, that was the important thing, and they gave me a five year visit visa, even though i only applied for a 6month one. I also went through Lahore airport, and i don't speak a word of urdu, but they knew english and when you get there you go through the immigration and then you go straight to where your bags are where someone will be there to help you with a trolly, then it's a short walk to the outside, just make sure no one tries to over charge you for using the trolly.

Once u enter the airport for immigration and customs u see a que follow that que and FIA immigration staff will ask few questions for how long u came and some simple questions then u go where u baggage comes. There u see trollies u can grab the trolly by urself or their are porter there too its up to u whether u want porter or not. There is no charge for taking the trollie until u dont take a porter and even u take a porter then u just pay like from 50 to 100 rupees. Then after u take ur luggage then it go under scanning by the customs and if customs see any suspicious things then u will be asked to open ur luggage and once it is done u come out of the airport.

yes they will pick up your bags for you lol. i mean here in the states you have to request it, but in pakistan they are dressed like the cricket team and will gladly pick up your bags for you even if you dont want them to.

come on boyz english is international language. everyone knows it, even the people who say "no speak a english".

I was wondering if I could speed up my wife's interview if I was in Pakistan and go to the interview with her?

Do they even let you in the embassy if you are there with your fiance or spouse for thier interview?

Also do they do DCF in Pakistan? If so does anybody know the process? Do you have to live there for a certain amount of time?

If so does anybody know the process? Do you have to live there for a certain amount of time? You have to live there for I think it six months not sure and you will submit all paperwork to them and then get an interview is my understanding.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...om&page=dcf

Read this link that Mexauna produced for VJ and I would contact the embassy and ask them what is their particular requirements since I know you do have to stay so long in Pakistan before they will accept a DCF filing.

is this the normal procudre to go thru 2 interviews?

has anyone else on the forum received one of these letters from islamabad embassy as well?

thanks for any responses as we're getting frustrated with this whole process.
