write to a senator immediately. Tell them to ask the DOS on whats going on (DOS and not embassy). If the senator writes back with a response fron the DOS that security clearance is done, take that letter to embassy.

That is what I did. They kept telling me i was in AP. I showed a letter from the senator that the DOS is done with clearance. They told me to come back with a new medical and police clearance to get a visa.

I know its a long shot but its not hard contacting a senator! Just hope urs is helpful

I was wondering if anyone knew what the average wait times are for getting an interview?

My wifes application was just completed on Oct 30 but hasnt left the NVC yet. Im estimating that the Islamabad embassy will get it sometime this month and send her the Packet 3.5 hopefully before Christmas, then they will give her a date right?

Thanks

It took 3 weeks from NVC assigning a case number till packet 3.5 arrived for my fiance. I am GUESSING it will be about the same for you, but we are a K-1 visa, not CR-1. With the fiance visa, they did not assign an interview yet, but for you they should provide one with the packet 3.5, from what everyone here experienced.

Best of luck!

As a side, the NVC was very friendly with me and told me exactly when they mailed it to ISL, which was nice to know. On the ISL side, it was harder to get information. I know it took only a few days for the electronic copy to arrive and them to start the processing - much longer for the paper copy to get processed though, esp. with the holidays.

07-18-2006 Mailed I-129f

07-21-2006 Arrived Nebraska Service Center, transfered to CSC

07-29-2006 NOA1 notice received in mail

09-26-2006 NOA2

10-16-2006 NVC assigns case number

10-30-2006 ISL sends out packet 3

11-06-2006 Packet 3 recieved

12-08-2006 Packet 3 returned to Embassy

01-26-2007 Called to Amex for interview date

03-13-2007 SCHEDULED FOR INTERVIEW!

Sorry to hear you in AP now and all you can do it wait it out. The darkness is not any fun and hopefully they will be able to issue your visa soon. Hang in there.

Saeed'

It is taking a few months to get an interview out of Islamabad for the CR1s but you should get packet 3.5 in a few weeks of its arrival at the embassy. I do think Christmas is too early to expect an interview and good luck for the rest of your journey.

Mary

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Yeah, I think the Islamabad embassy may have already received your documents. I wouldn't be surprised if your wife receives the packet 3.5 in a matter of days.

You can possible get an interview date before Christmas. It is possible.

They give the interview dates for the next month.
