Salam everyone. First of all Eid Mubarek to all.

So my husband just came out of "ITIKAF" last night and today I got an e mail saying that our I-130 was approved. Subhanallah. Ok but I am a little confused. He still has his K-3 interview on Nov. 24. And I know a few people that have applied for the I-130 and they got packets and had to send them things to the embassy. I never received anything from them. I just send them the application got receipt from them and now almost a year later I get the approval letter. So now what? Now are they going to ask me for all the things or what? I don't know what to do now. They said that they will send me the letter within 30 days. Anybody know the timeline for ISLAMABAD for these kind of cases? I know alot of you guys are still waiting. Please help if anyone knows....

I am a little confused about something. When I file for the waiver for my husband if he needs it ( allah na karay) than do I apply for it here or he does it there. The posts that i have been reading have lead me to believe that he will hand it in over there. Yesterday I called some lawyer that my friend gave me the # for and he said that u need to do it from here. Does anyone know the way? And is it faster if I do it from here? I mean I did all the paperwork thru here so I am not sure.

Also what is this Pre Paid Legal thing????

:clock::cry: 78 days left

google pre paid legal insurance

then fill out their " call me please " there will then be a rep. in your area

that will put you in contact with a local Law firm. when ever you have a problem

call them- you can talk to the attorney unlimited and as long as you want.

the starting fee is something like 26.00 and its 26.00 every month.

you can also add your spouse on there * this looks good later on with the visa process *

I been a member for along time - I like it..

I use my attorney for this hellish AP process with questions

and I use him for my divorce, I used it for my interview with USICS.

Hi everyone, I dont post on here much, because my family's immigration has been over for a while now. But I just wanted to let everyone know that my cousin who got married in Pakistan this year, applied for a spousal visa for his wife just this year. His wife had her interview just this week in Islamabad, and she was put on administrative review. She answered all of the questions without a hitch, because it was such a basic interview such as, what is your husbands name and what does he do, yet at the end of the 2 minute interview she was put on review. This is just a warning to everyone that women are also not safe from administrative review. My cousin has no idea why his wife, a girl, was put on review, if anyone has any idea let me know. Also if anyone of you have any idea how long most review cases take for women or even men based on your experiences please let me know, because him and his family are really worried. Inshallah she will recieve her visa soon, but who knows how long it will take. Later, Peace you'all

missinghim you have some time to go. The process takes some time for Cr1.

malias231, they should have told your friend why they were put on review. e.g. name hit, there has to be a reason.

My wife who interviewed approx 3 weeks ago was placed on admin review also along with another girl. The reason was a name match. In her case, fingerprint check was requested (I guess to validate identity). She was given a letter stating that the process takes atleast 4 weeks minimum and she should contact the embassy in 45 days if she has not recvd her passport. The embassy kept her passport. We believe that this is now a routine security procedure when name match with their databases and the checks will be completed within the 45 day period.

Anyone with CR-1 experience can help.

The NVC keeps the documents for some time, huh? 3 weeks?

Can my spouse pick up and drop off the Packet 3.5 from the embassy?

What does she have to take to the interview?

What questions will they ask? They ask in urdu, right?

Can I check the status of my ISL2006xxxxxx case number? How can I?

I'm emailing NVC, but they are not giving me a valid response rather copying and pasting stuff.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes once the DS230 and the I-864 were submitted it can be from 2 -6 weeks to get them reviewed and approved.

Can my spouse pick up and drop off the Packet 3.5 from the embassy? They have to match the electronic copy with the hard copy and told us we had to wait on the documents to be sent out via courier and we had them within one month of our approval and the diplomatic pouch sent to Islamabad.

What does she have to take to the interview? I forwarded my husband exact copies of everything I submitted stateside, he had to take pictures, emails, phone call bills, etc.

What questions will they ask?Very basic of what is name, how you met, when you married, who attended, any other questions like divorce or widowed?

They ask in urdu, right? They will ask if she wants her interview in Urdu or English?

Can I check the status of my ISL2006xxxxxx case number? Yes you can call and check the status but it is slow in updates sometimes. I know our case was completed but the line said that it was missing documents. You would need to talk to an operator and get them to tell you the status.

How can I?

NVC

1-603-334-0700 and have your case number and your wife's full name and date of birth. You can talk to an operator from 7:30 am until Midnight, Mon - Friday.

I'm emailing NVC, but they are not giving me a valid response rather copying and pasting stuff.Yes and the embassy will do the same basically if you are in AR/AP which mainly happens with men. A few ladies get a 221g for a name hit or missing or incomplete documents.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

.

Good luck on the remainder of your journey and I edited to put that once she gets packet 3.5 it will have instructions for the police report(s) and the medical and once you submit them back to the embassy they will continue your processing and will then give you your interview date.

Mary

Mary, thank you for the information! I really appreciate it!

I'm confused on the Packet 3.5. Does the NVC mail that or the Islamabad embassy?

If it is the Islamabad embassy, can you pick it up?

If it is the NVC, can my wife just drop it off at the embassy after they're finished?

Can they get the police certificates ready in the mean time?

I know for the medical part, they'll have to wait for the packet 3.5.

Once the documents are forwarded to the embassy in Islamabad, how long does it take for my wife to receive the packet 3.5?

I guess it is going to take some time for the NVC to forward the documents to the embassy in Islamabad.
