My husband passed his medical exam!!! Alhamdulillah!

Next thing on the list is the interview...inshAllah it will go well. :D

This is great news for you! I have a question. My husband has been going through the mandatory admin processing since 9/1 so I'm hoping he will get his visa in a few months. If not, I will be making a trip back over there to see him. Does anyone know if it makes any difference if the petitioner goes to the embassy in person to see what the hold up is with the AP/AR? If his case is still pending at that time, I want to see if this will help maybe speed things up? Also, does anyone know if this admin review stuff is done with the same detail and depth with both the I-130 and the K3? Cause my husband got a time frame of 15 days - 2 months from his interviewer and he did K-3 and his friend who had an I-130 interview was told about 6 months for the review process.

sk782 - the answer to that (as far as I'm concerned) is it depends - it depends on what stage of admin proc they are at, if it's at the internal embassy level or over here in DC already... w/ our case - and that's all I can attest to - calling and s/w a consular officer helped move the case along while it was doing some internal security checks involving some countries he had traveled to - and then when I went to go visit we went to the embassy and had him take the full set of prints (had we not made a personal visit who knows how long it could have been for them to contact him to come in and do the prints), and then after that it took several months at the DC check level (for that I don't think visits to the embassy will help at all) All in all it took us about six and a half months of AP. Hope that helps a little - wishing you the best and a speedy resolution insha'Allah.

Hope all is well with the rest of you! i've been busy w/ AOSing ;)

sk782,

If you are in AP they will not discuss anything with you and you cannot have the case adjudicated any faster via a congressman, senator or visiting. I called, emailed, and asked for help since we were in a black abyss and they only said they would contact my husband once they were ready to move forward on his case. It was right at 5 months for us. Good luck.

Mary
