shon as long as they dont make you fill it out right there at the embassy, i see nothing wrong with usc filling it out and sending it to their spouse. There is a question on the form that ask if someone helped you fill the form i believe. So they look it over and sign it. thats all.

I would NEVER fill out any DOCUMENT intended for my spouse thats illegal!!!

I even had my husband send it to NVC and Embassy HIMSELF. So dont be advising

people to take your dayum approach!

No it is not illegal - if it were, than all immigration attorneys as well as anyone who fills out and signs the preparer's section provided for at the bottom of forms would be in violation of the law all the time. Many beneficiaries out there may not know how to read or write in English and rely on others (i.e. the petitioner or an attorney, or someone who reads/writes english) to fill out the form accurately and honestly and then reviews and signs the document.

If I let my husband fill all of those forms out, we'd have about 25 RFE's just because his writing is terrible!

I completed all that I could on fillable .pdf's - anything that needed his signature, I would email and have him review, print and return DHL. I tried a few different internet cafe's in ISL when I was there - their ADOBE was generally not up to par and would take 20 minutes to just open one doc - so I could not imagine my sweetie enduring that night mare.....

02-19-06 Flight from Karachi to Islamabad

02-21-06 Drops off recent chats and old passport at Embassy

02-21-06 Embassy Issues Visa!!! YaaaaFreeeakinHooo!

02-22-06 Flight from ISL to Karachi (dont get me started on why they could not just hand him his passport yesterday)

02-23-06 - Argue with AMEX for an hour to make them look for the embassy shipment

02-28-06 - He's here..... now off to AOS!

05-12-06 - EAD Card Received

Salam everyone. I know I've been gone a longggg time...but life has been busy and I have been reading up just not posting too much.

We're well...still waiting on the hubby's EAD...8 months and counting...USCIS will not respond to inquiries.

Finally our lawyer got through to someone, case pending extra security in Texas. Arghhh...scary stuff

I was told if this does not come through in a few more months (read 1 year!) we may need to file a mandamus action. I'm not sure how i feel about that yet.

Anyone who has been having EAD issues? Mandamus experience? Btw, we are also not being given a temporary work permit for undisclosed reasons.

I-485 , I-765, I-130: NOA1 : 1/23/2006

Biometrics 2/23/2006

Temporary EAD given for 1 month ONLY b/c of Infopass appt: 5/1/2006

Went back to renew EAD through Infopass: EAD card was not given "due to reasons we can't disclose"

5/3/2007: Confirmation that EAD is delayed due to background checks. (started to use the senator, ombudsman and was just a royal pain in the neck)

5/30/2007: EAD production ordered (after over 400 days of waiting!!! woo hoo!)

AOS Interview: 5/12/2008!!! FINALLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7/29/2008: card production ordered...918 days..can't wait to see that card!

At what point did I say he could not read or understand english? Of course he does, sometimes better than people who were born here. He's even pretty good at spelling....

I said his writing was terrible and his computer access s*cked. (kisses if you are reading this sweetie!)

I can tell you this if your gonna file a "WOM" - you need to insure you have exausted all avenues.

that you have documents like the inquirys and the responses. The fee will start you roughly

2,000K and upwards. you will need an attorney that knows how to deal with "WOM" - good luck.
