Salaam to everyone,

My wife's K3 interview is comming up this June.... the packet says we need to bring the DS-156/230 along with us, is this correct? or do we need to send anything to the embassy prior to interview?

Also, on one of the DS forms they ask if you intend to work in the USA; if my wife doesnt intend to work, should we answer "No"?

Thanks

Yes, She needs to bring with her two copies of DS-156, DS-230 (part I) and I-134 with all the proof.

Don't forget the Parent Info form and the other info they requested.

Yes you will answer no as my wife did the same as she is a house wife

He is taking about how the K3 Visa was passed into law. I beleive the process was started some time in 1998-1999 by some indians in the west coast who were tired of waiting for their wifes to come over on the I-130, they started a petition drive by getting signatures from common folks outside walmart, etc. The K3 was signed into law by bill clinton before he left office. Thats all I know.

It is so weired that our case has not been forward to Islamabad from NVC and it has been one month now. I called and speak with Agent and even Supervisor and they have no idea why our case is under "Administrative Processing" and they would not tell how long it will take.

I was afraid for long waiting AP time at Islamabad but they have started at NVC for us. I never heard case being taking this much time at NVC.

what should I do other than just sitting and calling every week? It is simply rediculous..........

Data Sheet

contact your congressman see if there can be an enquiry made on your case.

Need a suggestion, for I-134, our office address might change in August but we don't have a date for sure. so on all forms should I provide our current address or go with the new one??

go with the OLD address. if your company has 1/2 a brain they will forward the mail.

once the new address has taken effect.. then you can up date the address.

Doesn't hurt to try. The worst they can do is say no, right?

Strange that your case got stuck at NVC. Is there anything out of the ordinary you can think of? It's K-3 right? Did you file I-130 in parallel?

Name checks are done at all stages and centers which can cause a name hit or make the petition be held in AP at NVC. I know the Dipsticks are also Pakistani in background and they are stuck at the NVC level too. Just like in AOS stages some petitions can be pulled for intense review and my understanding is it is like a computer spitting out one in so many cases and a few get unlucky on this step as well.

To everyone in AP you can contact a congressman but do not get upset if you never get anything more than a canned response. I have all the letters from our attempts at finding out why my husband was in AP and if they could tell me when to expect it to finish. Since I found no answers this is when I got proactive and did all the research to understand the AP processing. And my motto is it never hurts to try but do not put your hopes too high for an answer from them.

Good luck to all the upcoming interviews this week!

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.
