Hello everyone, good day.

Me and my fiance had same nationality but he's US citizen. we chat and communicate use our indonesian language everyday.

my question is, do we need to translate for evidence our conversation chat for the (explanation how we met) into english??

the problem is we use short words (its like slank language) and its hard to translate into english.

what should suppose i do? is it necessary evidence?

appreciate your comment, thanks.

ANYTHING sent to USCIS must have a certified English translation.

I did submit some excerpts of chat.  I don’t think it was compelling.

Remember that for I-129F the sole requirement is having met in person once in the past 2 years.

For the actual K-1 what matters is frequently meeting.

You are permitted to self translate your chats. Any translation must be accompanied with a statement that conforms to: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-8/chapter-I/subchapter-B/part-103/subpart-A/section-103.2

Translations. Any document containing foreign language submitted to USCIS shall be accompanied by a full English language translation which the translator has certified as complete and accurate, and by the translator's certification that he or she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English.”

This is your petition, and so if you want these chats, I recommend you translate them.

Either way, agonizing over this is not productive for you.  Move forward.

In my I-129F I provided this evidence of bonafide relationship

* evidence of all meetings we ever had, both within the 2 year period and outside the 2 year period. This included photos  Some people on visajourney say it helps to front load the case (some say don’t bother …. Personally  I think it helped at the K-1 and I-485 stages)

* excerpts of chats

* some emails

* evidence that she was an authorized user on one of my credit cards (some banks don’t require an SSN)

* a signed and dated statement from each of us  stating intent to marry the other within 90 days of her entering the USA on a K-1 visa

* copy of her passport
