You have to tell your attorney they are fired, then the attorney has to file the form with USCIS that they are no longer your attorney.

Thank you very much for your help! I immediately wrote a release letter to my attorney. Also, could you please help me to check, is my letter to VSC written correctly? Declaration letter: Dear immigration officer, my name is XX, my A number is XXXX, I declare that I will cancel my case represented by XX lawyer, and I will continue my case by myself. All future notices about my case, please mail to I. My email is XXX, my receiving address is XXX, and my phone number is XXX. The declarant is XX. Is this correct? Or can you give me a correct version? Please guide me, Thank you!

Friends, I'm back after a while. I already have my GC and I'm moving.

As VAWA applicant, how do I update my address with USCIS? Should I send the form to Vermont? Is there anything else I need to do?

Went through this in December. Wrote to Vermont and they returned it back to me advising that I am able to go online and change it like all LPRs are able to. VAWA or not. So do just that.😊👍

What a nice feeling for you and others, after the big mountains have been scaled!

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Greetings all,

My vawa was approved on January 13 2023. My case was transferred to new office on February 20 2023. I received a request for initial evidence on February 22 2023( 2 days after it was transferred) for my I-485. I know the only way to find out is to get the letter and open it. Glad that there is an update and I can't stop rolling scenarios in my head.

My question is related to deficiency letter and medicals, what was the message you receive on the portal when you saw the first update? Did you get message <request for initial evidence was sent > or was it another message like we sent a deficiency letter.  Something like that not sure.

Any response is appreciated.

Thank you

In my own case, when the case was transferred to NBC, I got RFE for initial request on my I485. Which was a request for my birth certificate. After the response, I got the deficiency letter and there after the RFE for medicals. But in some cases, the initial request might be for medicals while in some cases, it will be additional evidence RFE. Check my time-lines and see the dates. Best of luck.

You are making it seem like you are asking them to close your case.  They will close your case based upon this statement.. I declare that I will cancel my case represented by XX lawyer.

Although they will not accept  this information from you, you can write them and say that I have terminated services with my attorney XX, please remove him from my case.  Furthermore, please send all mail to:  XX

Thank you very much for your help, I know what to do, thank the Lord for allowing me to meet so many good people.

I chatted with EMMA and i told them i need to find the status of my i-485. Therefore i need to make an info pass appointment since my case is confidential. Hence i was told someone will call me in 30 days. However, they called within 72 hours. It was pretty good experience. I would say make an appointment if you need one.
