I would say before you sue them try to to do your own background through third party and send that result to USCIS. If you search few thread back there are people who did that and got approved.

I did my background check via IdentoGO and sent to USCIS and nothing changed. I heard a writ of mandamus helped a lot of people here.

Our jokes are so effective and popular that here's the Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke for Wednesday:

============================================

THE CONSCIENTIOUS TENANT

A man telephoned a pet shop and said, "I'd like to place an order for 25,000 cockroaches."

"What on earth do you want with that many roaches?" asked the clerk.

"Well, I'm moving tomorrow," said the man, "and my lease says that I must leave the premises in exactly the same condition in which I found them."

Thank you Crazy Cat, I want USCIS to know that I fired the attorney, I would like to hear from USCIS directly, the lawyer has been forwarding the letters from USCIS to me, but the lawyer has been delaying sending these letters. I wrote a letter to the immigration office to dismiss the lawyer, but the immigration office ignored it. How can I fire a VAWA lawyer? Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry, I didn't make it clear, what I mean is: I didn't succeed in firing my lawyer. In order to fire the attorney, I mailed the dismissal statement letter and AR-11 (my new contact address) to VSC, I want to proceed with my case by myself, receive all the correspondence from USCIS, and no longer be represented by this attorney. But VSC has not responded to me. Am I missing something? Do I still have to write a dismissal letter to the attorney? Does the attorney have to leave my case with the VSC at the same time in order to complete the dismissal process? Please guide me what to do, thanks

Is anyone familiar with the process to request a return of documents from USCIS?

As a former United Nations employee, there’re certain waivers that was attached to my original marriage petition in 2017.

Filed 360 in 2018

VAWA was approved in 2022

Responded to the RFE for medical since November.
Wondering why it’s stuck in this phase after I’ve relinquished all diplomatic rights since 2017.

How so I request a return of I-508/I-566? These are immigration documents signed and stamped by the UN and country of origin.

Anyone else very... intrigued... by the fast approvals these days? Saw someone get their I-360 approved in less than 6 months. Even less for non-VAWA - saw one get approved one month after submission. I looked at my timeline and I got my green card 972 days after submitting I-360 and 1250 days since original I-485. Not complaining by any means! I am over the moon for everyone who dont have to go through the hell we did and good for USCIS for finally getting it together but I really hope the people who still havent been approved are prioritized too. It looks like though things are moving along for everyone now (just by this forum alone!) so I'm praying everyone has good news soon!

You have to tell your attorney they are fired, then the attorney has to file the form with USCIS that they are no longer your attorney.
