Hello everyone, I saw a few people in the past say they had their adjustment of status interview waived and I was wondering if this has happened to anyone recently? I’m wondering what are the circumstances that the USCIS office with sometimes waive the AOS by 485 interview? Hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday and I appreciate all of your help .

I believe it’s based majorly at the officers discretion. For example I’m adjudicating a case and feel like everything checks out, I may not require the presence of the petitioner to conclude the case. Other times I feel like there are issues that needs straightening out and the appearance of the petitioner would be helpful…at least that’s how I see it logically.💁🏻‍♀️

USCIS officers may determine, on a case-by case-basis, that it is unnecessary to interview certain adjustment of status applicants. When determining whether to waive an interview, an officer must consider all relevant evidence in the applicant's record.

Do you think now that they’ve open the second office and Nebraska’s to start adjudicating these types of cases things will move faster?
