@Zizigragnon congratulations with GC!

You're absolutely right, to have your immigration file clean, you should withdraw your asylum petition, but only when you get your physical GC in hand! It's also worth noting, just because you withdraw your asylum doesn't mean USCIS / Asylum office forgotten about it. Travelling back to your country still poses serious risk to your immigration plans in the future. Don't forget, you swore under oath you could not go back to your country due to fears of prosecution or death. The list of countries traveled to may pop up in the future, when filing N-400 for example. And you would have to prove to IO with very detailed and legitimate facts that situation back home changed. It would be best that you never travel back to your home country and meet your family and friends in a third country.

Thank you, this approval is for i360 vawa application. the card is probably work authorization C31 category. Next will be either green card interview or approval without interview after medical examination request. thanks for your response.

[Note to T-B.'s self:  Jokes worked again... jokes worked again... :P ]

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Got it, in this case I would advise keeping asylum case until you get decision on I-485 and GC. IMHO travel back to your country would be a bad idea especially since you're not even LPR yet.

Sunday means time for our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

============================================

NEW INCARNATION

A man and his wife agreed that whichever of them died first would attempt to contact the other from the next world.

The man died first.  One evening, as the wife sat quietly reading, she heard her husband's voice.  "Honey, is that you?" she exclaimed.

"It is," said the voice.

"You kept your promise!  Tell me about the next world!" said the wife excitedly.

"Well, the skies are blue, the clouds are white and fluffy, and I have all the green grass to eat that I could ever ask for."

"Grass?" said the wife.  "You never wanted to eat grass."

"I know," said the voice.  "But now I'm a bull in Montana!"

Just because they approve and issue GC does not mean it cannot be revoked. Traveling back to your home country even After you get GC will be an issue.

you need to talk to an attorney. Even if you withdraw asylum petition and go home when you wrote you were afraid is considered fraud.

I will definitely consult with an attorney again. In my case the people I was afraid of are no longer in power since 2016. US government can verify and there no reason for them to approve asylum if it's no longer a threat.I agree with that. At that time I asked an attorney to remove and he said he sent a withdrawal letter. For me it was done until I consult another lawyer in 2018 and she checked my receipts and told me it was never removed. For her, it has to be removed in court which I didn't know. The first attorney messed me up at all level. I almost reported him.

I also went to Germany(not my country of origin) using AP in 2020 and came back with no issue.
