I got medical rfe a month ago, sent 693 and was received by uscis two weeks ago. Online status did not change, not when rfe was issue nor after 693 was received by uscis. Only confirmation I have is fedex delivery confirmation.

Is this normal? Is there anything I should do? Please advise.

Good morning everyone! For those who follow my (painful at times) journey, I mentioned that I saw that my i-360 application has been approved 2 months ago, however the card was returned to the USCIS because my horrible lawyers moved and didn't notify the USCIS (I actually would be surprised if they were proactive about that). Anyways, now the case status website says that my card will be destroyed in January 2023. After trying to reach out to lawyers to have them change the address for mailing the card, they finally did... but by email. Is it possible the USCIS would change my address by my lawyers emailing them? Am I mistaking something, I thought it has to be done in a physical copy? Please let me know before I send them an angry email lol.

Also, this whole situation pisses me off and triggered past memory of them not appearing at my "hold in abeyance" interview with me. They basically didn't sign the representation form that I brought with me and said it will be fine. Didn't prep me and said to not say anything since she will lead the call. Well, to my great disappointment, the officer first forgot about me for 3 hours (I was sitting in that waiting room for that long being scared to ask about my turn to not "rush" them but eventually did). Then, the officer said I can't have my lawyers on phone cause they didn't sign rep form and proceeded to heavy interrogation. Well, I cried in that appointment so much but answered everything correctly and thanks to this forum knew to ask for abeyance of the document.

Anyways, thanks for listening. Do you guys know if I can hold my lawyer accountable in any form? I paid them $5k for the services and they only made everything way worse.

I have a question: I just got an online notice that "Notice Was Returned To USCIS Because The Post Office Could Not Deliver It''

My questions are:

1. What notice was this?

2. On August 2022 I received a letter from USCIS in the same address, so why would this time be difficult?

On Emma chat, they are advising me to send letter to Vermont VAWA unit! But Vermont don't respond to letters.

My original application date was 06/05/2019 , responded to an RFE on 2021.

Please, any advice???

On October 28, 2022, the Post Office returned a notice we sent you for your Form I-360, Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant, Receipt Number ********, because they could not deliver it. This could have a serious effect on your case. Please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice immediately. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Did anyone get something like that before? And what should I do?

Any updates??? I also have similar question.

Well, I am really glad to know that I am not alone)) As for the update, I did couple things so far: 1. Created an e-request requesting a copy of an undelivered notice, at it was stated in the case status - no response so far. 2. I called the USCIS hot line and even spoke to a real person - they don't have access to VAWA cases, all they told me is to write a letter to the Vermont Service Center (later received a letter from USCIS saying that they were not able to provide info I need through phone and I have to write a letter to VSC) I sent a letter-request to VSC basically explaining what happened and asking what was the notice about and will they send me a copy. Yesterday I received a letter from them, with my original letter-request to them attached, saying that my "inquiry is being returned because the information you seek is available through USCIS by using online tools....". P.s. how interesting, they were not able to deliver the notice, but the letter telling that info I seek is available on USCIS - no problem to deliver at all!!!!))) 3. Oh, almost forgot, and I also reached out to the Congressman (in my case it is a Congresswoman) with the same basically inquiry. And received a response from her, that they contacted USCIS on my behalf and will let me know once hear from USCIC. That's it so far. And as I said before, my address wasn't changed since my original filing date, and all prior paperwork was nicely delivered....

So, write now, baffling myself, what to do next....

Mmmmm! Interesting reactions and counter actions!!  I like your strategies and planning.  Personally myself, I have only contacted my Senator, made an online inquiry to USCIS, I don't plan to call their number or write any letters.

And like your case, l also received other letters by same address, infact the most latest one was EAD approval on August 2022. So how they couldn't deliver this time, remains a mystery!!! I also totally understand that Post office is overwhelmed right now because we're in a holiday season, but still......

I have been researching all over the thread's, on other sites such as immhelp...many other websites.  But still I couldn't find any straight answers. Let's just hope for the best.

Sorry this happened to you. I emphasize with your situation having experienced the same disappointment with a half-baked attorney. Let’s thank God for your I-360 approval. It could have been worse with the interrogation. You can always get a replacement card.

I should have been a citizen by now. My VAWA filed with an attorney was denied in 2017. I decided to file a new application on my own in 2018 and got it approved. They said I owe $6,000 in attorney fees for no guidance, no direction, didn’t review my declaration … I’d rather die, be born again and jailed for life before paying that money.

It is Wednesday, and 'tis the season, for our Semiofficial Semiweekly and Official Thanksgiving VAWA-Thread jokes:

==========================================

THANKSGIVING JOKES

I asked my butcher, "How do you prepare your turkeys for Thanksgiving?"

He said, "We just tell them straight out that they're gonna die."

In the supermarket, I had trouble finding a Thanksgiving turkey large enough to feed my family.

I asked the clerk, "Do these turkeys get any bigger?"

He said, "No, sir; they're dead."

:P

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Send a letter to USCIS changing the address and after 10 days call your congressperson to confirm if the address was changed.
