Ahhh...yes, thank you. I have that!!

Please help, my lawyer just emailed me and saying “

“I hope you are doing well. I write to provide you with a status update about your pending I-360/I-485. As you know, your filing was submitted to USCIS on December 10, 2020. Based on current processing time information, USCIS is indicating that it adjudicates 80% of the VAWA-based I-360 petitions within 33.5 months of receipt. Further, USCIS indicates that the earliest opportunity we have to inquire about your case status is June 9, 2024.

Based on this information, I anticipate that you will need another extension of your work and travel permission. We can get started on it now if you would like as we are about 6 months away from the expiration of your current authorization. Our legal fee to assist with these filings is $1,000 and there is a delivery and handling charge of $50.”

Is it normal?:( how. Long more do I have to wait:(( she says June 2024! It’s gonna be almost 4 years till then:( after I divorce I met w an amazing person and she is American and we’ve been living together almost 4 years. Her family knows everything and we can get marry tomorrow but I don’t wanna lose wava and start all over again. I’m so stressed enough!!!:(

In the point a it is clearly saying "or is waiting for a permanent resident card", Which means you can use you I-485 797 notice to claim that you are waiting for your green card. That's how I got the residency.  Also did you receive your receipts notices for 485,765,131?

Ah, they didn't go for that. Administrator said you must have approved Green Card status with a Green Card in hand, or you have the grant letter and are waiting for it to arrive in the mail. She said she could work with just the letter.

I see how it can be read both ways.

FL is tough.

Withdrew i589 that was pending for 15 years ( judge cannot rule on 42b while immigrant have a pending petition )

we decided to move ahead with 42b trial , since approval letter not yet received,  and 42b vawa approved also.

Between 2017 & 2022 i was arrested 4 times and criminally charged for domestic violence after false allegations from my ex ( in all 4 cases went to trial and I was found NOT GUILTY )

And twice detained by immigration and bonded out

Moral of the story : hire a good attorney and fight like hell and never lose hope, God is great.

Ah, Sunday -- the much-awaited day of our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

===============================

THE DIVORCE COURT

A judge was interviewing a South Carolina woman regarding her pending divorce.  He asked, "What are the grounds for your divorce?"

"About 4 acres and a nice little home in the middle of the property with a stream running by," she said.

"No," he said, "I mean, what is the foundation of this case?"

"It's made of concrete, brick, and mortar," she responded.

"I mean," he continued, "what are your relations like?"

"I have an aunt and uncle and 12 cousins living here in town, as well as my husband's parents."

The judge took a deep breath and asked, "Do you have a real grudge?"

"No, we have a 2-car carport and have never really needed one, because we don't have a car."

"Please," he tried again.  "Is there any infidelity in your marriage?"

"Yes, my son and daughter both have stereo sets.  We don't necessarily like the music -- all that hip-hop and rap -- but we can't seem to do anything about it."

"Ma'am, does your husband ever beat you up?"

"Yes, he gets up every morning before I do and makes the coffee."

Finally, in frustration, the judge asked, "Lady, why in blazes do you want a divorce?"

"Oh, I don't want a divorce," she replied.  "I've never wanted a divorce.  My husband does.  Durned fool says he can't communicate with me!"

Wow... not one post between our Official Weekly and Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Jokes.  This one should awaken us:

=================================

ROOFERS IN A FIX

Two roofers, Bob and Dan, were putting a new roof on a barn when a bundle of shingles slid down the slope and knocked their ladder over.

Bob and Dan decided that, because it was early, they would continue working, because surely someone would come around by quitting time.  However, as it was nearing 5 p.m., they hadn't seen a trace of anyone.  They walked around the roof a few times and finally decided that there was only one way down.  On the west side of the barn was a big pile of manure.

Bob said, "It's the only way down.  I'll go first."

Bob jumped.  Dan heard the squishy landing and yelled, "Hey, Bob!  How deep did you go?"

Bob yelled back, "I went to my ankles, Dan.  Come on -- jump!"

Dan jumped, and he sank up to his neck in manure.  He shouted, "I thought that when you jumped, you went up to your ankles!"

"I did," explained Bob, "but I landed head-first!"

Hi Everyone

Has anyone here petitioned for a child living overseas after receiving your green card? Which forms did you use for the petition?

When did you get your green card?
