I don't think it's the wrong place, my attorney also mailed the c09 EAD renewal package on 03/06 and we've not heard back from USCIS as well. Any idea how long is it taking for an EAD renewal receipt notice?

The wait time for EAD in VSC is 15 months !

Your lawyer mailed your c9 EAD renewal package to VSC? I’m guessing You have a pending VAWA with them as well, and your EAD was based on family based AOS

At your i130 interview, you will be questioned about that and that may raise suspicion that your marriage in the USA was a fraud for the purpose having papers and marry your loved one in your home country. Wait until citizenship

@God is a good God Thank you for this information. I am still waiting for the VAWA approval.

As temporary relief from our various worries, here is our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

=======================================

THE MARRIAGE SEMINAR

St. Peter's Catholic Church began weekly marriage seminars for husbands.  At the first session, the priest asked Giuseppe, who said that he was approaching his 50th wedding anniversary, to share some insights into how he had managed to stay married to the same woman for so many years.

Giuseppe said to the assembled husbands, "Well, I've tried to treat her nice and spend money on her, but best of all is, I took her to Italy for the 25th anniversary!"

The priest responded, "Giuseppe, you are an amazing inspiration to all the husbands here!  Please tell us what you are planning for your wife for your 50th anniversary."

Giuseppe proudly replied, "I'm gonna go pick her up."

:P

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

You need to have 18 months of physical presence in the last three years on the day your interview is conducted.

If you can avoid or shorten your 5 month trip, it would be the best. The worst case scenario is when you're case is barely approvable. Make sure IO doesn't have to scratch his head and it's an easy decision for him or her.

Hi!

Does this 18 months presence still apply if she or he was a member of a religious entity based in the USA?

For it seems like those clergy  even outside USA performing they duties are still consider like being present physically in the USA.

Can you guys throw any light on this facts for us?

Just to clarify on this thread, 18 months need to be satisfied on date of application not interview.

Kindly throw any light about those going outside USA from time to time as religious, army or certain types of business Men or women based in the USA.

I think their stay outside USA is still consider as being physically present in the USA.

Am I correct?

Hello friends. I sent my Wawa case in 2019.  In 2 years, 2021, my C31 category card was ordered but not sent because within a week the case status changed to reopen the case for reconsideration.  Within a month I contacted Vermont and was told that my security check had not been completed and that was why there was a delay.  A year and a half has passed since then, two months ago I contacted my congressperson and got the same answer, my case is under security check  and they don't know the exact time.  After the last case status change, I got two PF and I don't remember 5 or 6 in total since 2019.. Please tell me what they are checking that it has not been completed for a year and a half.I have been waiting for a decision for 42 months.  I have seen same updates as I have and please share your experience.  What is a security check, what are they checking, I have never had any criminal record in my life. Congressperson said we can’t do anything in this process.

@AN2021 what country are you from? Don't be surprised if you're from a country which doesn't cooperate with the US or has major issues like war or political instability. Then yes, in those cases, background check is hard to complete.

That the US government doesn't know unless they perform background check, e.g. contact your country of origin to get information about you.

Thank you for answering me.  What should I ask about the structure of my country? Is the security check on receiving my information related to my country? What I have to ask? About my criminal record? If so will I send it to uscis?

I don't think you can do it yourself. It's communication between agencies in US and your country of origin.

There is something in your background check they have to investigate further.

Please, Can you tell me, for example, what it means that it could be something?  What does a background check include I have sent  inquire to VSC twice and both times I was told a security check, no background check.

Other applicants from my country got GC, so I don't think they don't have communication to my country.
