Good day everyone, It’s been over 2 months since I submitted renewal documents for form I-765 &I-131 to Vermont Center and I’m still yet to receive my receipt notice. Would like to know if this is normal and how long is it taking to get a receipt notice for renewals sent to Vermont.  Please advice

Thank you

Yes it is normal. I would say give it 1 more month if you don't get it then involve your congressperson.

Lately for some uscis is taking 2 to 3 months for receipts.

Hi Fam today I got call from my attorney and she was telling that basically let’s terminate your removal first :) I kept myself to not yell her I swear to god .
she said we have two option we can reopen your case and it wil on docket and then terminate etc

2. You can wait uscis but it will take so long . When I asked how they will if I’m removal .  you have administratively close so they should . I know she knows they can’t she just covering their mistake 6 months lost .. even if I didn’t post here or I didn’t listen what you guys was telling me then it will take forever and I will be same step ..

tel me please now how it will be head forward ? She said they will prepare for remotion etc .

i dont know what is your stage, or proceeding you are in, if you have pending removal order, there are 2 options 1  administratively closer with BIA 2nd Prosecutorial Discretion (PD), usually lawyer go with BIA first ( its have 80% chance of deny, lawyers do just to perform extra service, in my opinion its waste of time, PD is much better to file and more chances to win, do your research on both, see your situation and decide

It’s already been administratively closed by Jude. I was only waiting for Vawa approval, which I received, but my attorney submitted an I-485 to USCIS instead of the court without termination. I got information on here without termination; USCIS has no jurisdiction. Today, my dear attorney told me she was going to reopen and ask for termination after I asked why my I-485 was taking so long and traveling between centers without adjustment. I just waited 7 months for nothing ,  this makes me sad why she didn’t do initially all of this .

Hey everyone! Hoping I can get some input as to my situation.

I began my AoS journey in June 2020 when I married a US citizen. At that time, I filed I submitted my I-131, I-765, and I-485.   Turns out he was abusive and I left and I filed for my VAWA.  My I-131 and I-765 were approved on a combo card, but my I-485 was still pending.  This was about March 2021.

During this time I had to submit a renewal for my I-131 and I-765 since they were going to expire. I did this in November 2021.

In April 2023, I finally got news my I-360 was approved. As well, I then got my I-131 and I-765 combo card around August 2023.  I then went back home to visit my parents in another country.  I told my lawyer about this too and they didn't mention anything.

When I crossed back into the US, I got pulled into secondary. it happened before, so I wasn't too worried, since I had my I-131 and I-765 card.  Well, it turns out the card I had was just my I-131 and my I-765/AP card. USCIS stopped making combo cards in late 2022.

I told the CBP agent that my lawyer submitted the paperwork for both my renewals. As well, I also showed them the communication between my lawyer and me. How I requested my I-131 and I-765 to be submitted; my lawyer verified everything was submitted; and how I was going to travel.   I then got let into the country on a visitor visa to "get things sorted".

I contacted my lawyer about the entire situation and she said my I-765 was never approved.  I get the receipt number and see it has been in processing for nearly two years (which is well outside the processing time of 8 months).  All of this could have been avoided if a) my lawyer told me I wasn't allowed to travel OR b) my I-765 was approved in the processing time.

From the research I've done, it seems I need to resubmit my I-485 renewal since I abandoned my AoS. I'm hoping I can avoid this.  I have reached out to the Ombudsman, my senator and congressmen and I explained my situation.  There has been no response as of yet.  Does anyone have advice on what to do?

If I do need to resubmit, does anyone have a guide that explains how to fill out the I-131, I-765, and new I-485 on my own based on an I-360? I really want to avoid using a lawyer and waste another $4000

Thank you

Good evening my friends

Where can I check the processing time after vawa approval? I’ve checked the 485 at my local office and it’s almost 2 years?!? Am I checking the right place? I will have to wait another 2 years for an interview/gc approval?

AFAIK yes

I don't think you can avoid this. If you abandoned I-485 you would have to start over.

I think you may need a lawyer now more than you needed before.

How were you admitted last into the US?

What status are you in?

Does it allow you to adjust?

@Sandra G. @balo101 @Family

I have to send renewal for my EAD C9. Where shall I send? As my I-485 is still pending and what i have read I should be sending it to Vermont. but recently I received an RFE for DOB certificate for my I-485 and that came in from NBC Summit MO. I never received any notification saying they are moving my file. So where shall I be filing the renewal of my EAD to vermont or Summit?

Second question is how safe it is to return to the USA on advance parole before a week of its expiry.

Thanks

If you didn't receive any letter from Vermont saying they transferred your case to Nebraska then send the form I-765 to Vermont. You can enter without problem if your AP is valid.

If your VAWA was approved then you must  terminate your removal proceedings so that  USCIS can adjudicate your AOS.

You should contact your congressperson to inquire on your behalf, if you don't have an attorney representing you.

Hello fam,

I hope everyone is doing well, I recently received an RFE, and just wanted to what is the opinion of all the experienced members. Is it doable?

I would say you have  1% chance to  have your case approved,  considering what USCIS mentioned about your marriage.

What you are saying does not make sense to me. You said " I then got my I-131 and I-765 combo card around August 2023..."   It means your AP and EAD are valid..

"  Well, it turns out the card I had was just my I-131 and my I-765/AP card"- ????. You need the AP to reenter, and you just mentioned you had the advance parole.

" I contacted my lawyer about the entire situation and she said my I-765 was never approved" .According to your statement ,you received the AP and EAD in August 2023.

"I told the CBP agent that my lawyer submitted the paperwork for both my renewals".  IF you got the AP/EAD in August 2023 why did you submit the paperwork for renewal?.

I can understand the confusion. When I received the card in August 2023, I assumed it was a combo card. This is based on the fact, I received a similar card in May 2021, and I used that card to reenter the country in August 2022.

As I mentioned, the USCIS stopped producing combo cards at the end of 2022.  The card I received in 2023 was simply my I-131 card, which looks like a combination card. Though it doesn't have my I-765 attached to it.  When I told my lawyer I was leaving the country, she never told me that my I-765 was pending. Nor anything about me leaving the country. She didn't tell me the combination cards are no longer being produced.  And this is why I'm in this situation
