Is your VAWA approved? are you filling c09 or c31? If C31 yes then you have to pay.

if filling c09 based on pending i-485. Did you pay for i-485? if yes then it is free if you did not pay for i-485 then either pay the fee or use the fee waiver.

Thank you @balo101 for the quick response. Yes, VAWA has been approved. C31 expired in February 22, 2023. I am planning on renewing the C09 EAD. My lawyer did not pay for I-485. When I renewed my EAD CO9, I paid for it. So can I use a fee waiver for the renewal and on what grounds. Kindly list the documents I need to submit for renewal and the USCIS office address for the document submittal. Thank you.

You can use fee waiver if you are going through financial hardship. The documents you need are - i-765 application, 2 passport size pics, copy of current EAD, fee if you are paying.

Hello Family, I hope everyone is doing well.

My Vawa March 2022, and then Deficiency notice in September 2022 for I-485 MEDICAL.

Today I just received the interview notice for my I-485 which is on May 17 2023.

Can anybody tell what to expect during the interview? what type questions might be?

Any suggestion or guidelines will really help.

It's been a long wait since filing case in May 2019.

Mostly it would yes/no questions. But just prepare yourself they might ask you about your spouse/marriage.

Good luck.

Hello family, My representative sent me email yesterday.

Your constituent’s Form I-360 is located at the Vermont Service Center (VSC). On January 20, 2023, a Prima Facie Determination (PFD) extension letter was mailed to your constituent (or your constituent’s attorney or representative, if so represented); this case is pending background checks.

I'm September 2018 filler, got approved in January 2023 and reopened after 2 days.

When do you think background checks will be over OR when can I expect approval gain ?

OR any advice  ?

Thanks

Kindly tell me what you submitted for the renewal of your EAD. Did you make payment? I got a waiver when I first filed for VAWA but had to pay $410 for the renewal. Kindly advise if I have to pay for renewal.

No I didn't have to pay for the renewal, I recently even got an update on i131 stating that fingerprints have been applied.

Ahhh, Wednesday -- time for our Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke*:

*highly effective at prompting approvals and other positive progress, if correlation = causation

================================

A QUARTER IN HEAVEN

A quarter died and went to Heaven.  At his arrival at the Pearly Gates, the Lord Himself welcomed him as angels played the trumpets.  The quarter couldn't believe his eyes as he was given the most beautiful cloud of all, with riches and food and honey for eternity.

The next day, a $100 bill died.  He also rose to Heaven, but there didn't seem to be anyone there.  He pushed the Pearly Gates open by himself, but behind them was no one but one angel who was playing on his cell phone.  The $100 bill asked for his cloud, but he was given a little filthy gray rain cloud. As he unsuccessfully tried to make himself comfortable, he saw the quarter nearby, partying with all the angels on his enormous white cloud.

Upset, the $100 bill went to God Himself to complain.  "Why does the quarter get the best cloud and I get this puny rain cloud?  I'm more valuable, right?"

But God responded, "Yeah -- but we almost never saw you in church."

80% possibility of getting the GC without an interview . Still, USCIS  does USCIS things .
They can decide otherwise . keep us posted

Good luck.

I have also a question for you if you don’t mind . My Vawa got approved and I also submitted my I-485 with I-765 exact day 52 days is saying on my app they received my file. I paid fee also for 485, (C-09) but I’m just wondering they didn’t submit advance parole (I-131) even though assistant asked me about it . I am scary to ask about it because whatever I asked they also asking about their cost to pay if I wished to submit  . Can I file it by myself without telling attorney . Because before my Vawa got approved , I sent evidence separately not telling anything to my attorney.( cuz when I asked what document they submitted for me ,  i checked some of my documents are missed ) I don’t know they do that purposely to get RFE because I got RFE as well that time .if I will file it , will something happens? Thank you for answer sorry for confusion question .

yes of course you can send your i-131 without your attorney. He/She does not have to know.

Alot of us has done that. It is pretty straight forward. I am sure they will charge you if you ask them to send it for you. We are all here to help.

Since you submit those documents that's perfectly fine. I agree with you that they do that deliberately so they can charge us more.
