I chatted with EMMA and i told them i need to find the status of my i-485. Therefore i need to make an info pass appointment since my case is confidential. Hence i was told someone will call me in 30 days. However, they called within 72 hours. It was pretty good experience. I would say make an appointment if you need one.

That's impressive, I have only seen people being frustrated with EMMA. On the other hand you were able to get an info pass through her. Currently I am waiting for decision on my i-360. This is really a valuable information. Thank you for sharing @balo101

I’ve seen that letter attached to email. My removal proceeding was temporarily closed . So I don’t know what’s wrong with that submitted application.

Your lawyer have to file a motion to terminate the proceedings with the immigration court before you can file I 485 with USCIS . Removal proceedings  cases get temporarily closed to free up the docket while your case is being considered. Once your case is approved you have to file a motion before you can apply

What did they tell you? That your case is still pending or they’ll give some specific information

(And YOU thought we forgot)  [drum roll]  It is time for our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

=============================================

THE UGLY BABY

A woman with a baby sat down on a train.  The man sitting next to her glanced over and said, "Lady, that's the ugliest baby I've ever seen.  If that baby looks in a mirror, the mirror will shatter.  You should put a bag over that baby's head.  That baby is just ugly!"

The horrified woman stood up and shouted for the conductor.  "Conductor!  This man has insulted me!"

"I'm so sorry, ma'am," said the conductor.  "What he did is totally unacceptable on this train.  I will deal with him later.  For now, please come with me.  We'll give you a nice seat in the first-class carriage -- and a banana for your monkey."

My attorney told me that they send it different address and one of form was expired. They will fix and send it uscis . What they said to me on the phone . They didn’t mention about immigration court . But before they were saying they will get a receipt and present to immigration court etc . I’m also confused when I got approved my attorney said she is going to apply to court 485 but now uscis .

As far as I know your attorney needs to attach the copy of your  I360 approval notice to motion to terminate removal proceedings before your I 485 gets accepted by USCIS . At least that’s what I had to . Procedures might be updated . Technically immigration court has a jurisdiction over your case . Applying 485 to court is right . But rarely you see judges processing those cases . They usually like to approve the motion to terminate and send you over to USCIS .

I was thinking same what you had . But when I asked them lawyer’s assistant sent me that email” “regarding your other question we are going to submit a copy of the adjustment of status application to USCIS, that's the  reason why you need to pay the filing fee and after we receive the receipt notice from USCIS we are going to submit the original to the court so they can close the case“ .

After rejected my application they sent me that email 3 days back “ we are going to refile your application, we need to change a few things because we are now filing with USCIS.
Next week we will be submitting it and I will be sending you an email to let you know.

but I did see  first package delivered to Texas uscis center service .

Vawa was approved August of last year. I'm a beneficiary under my mom along with my other siblings. Just yesterday my mother got an update on her own greencard application that they resheculed an interview for the i485. The thing is that they never scheduled an initial interview? is that normal? Also none of mines and my siblings i485 have any updates just our mothers. Is this also normal? Will each of ours be subject to different hold times? i thought it was all being processed together.

Hi everyone, I have two questions: 1; My 485 case is currently in NBC, last week I sent my dismissal lawyer letter to NBC center, and my lawyer sent his quit letter to NSC, I asked him to send His resignation letter was also sent to NBC, and he said no, just send it to NSC. Is it right for a lawyer to do this? Should I send the attorney dismissal letter to NSC too? But my case is currently at NBC. Can anyone tell me how to do this? 2: My AR-11 was mailed together with the dismissal letter, how can I check whether the change of address is successful? Thank you 🙏
