Hello Sandra,

How long it usually takes for security or background check ? I'm getting same responds from uscis pending background check on my i485 since 2020 when my I360 got approved.

Also when is the pending i485 considered to be out of processing time nyc office?

Thank you !

I had cases of  background check that took 6 months and others 1 and even 2 years. NYC local office takes  16/18 months to set up the interview.

Just got C-31 EAD last week. PD Feb 2020

(1) Does that mean my I-360 is approved? Will I receive an Approval notice? How long does it take?

(2) I had my I-485 hold in abeyance. Does that mean I need to let USCIS know about this? If yes, when or what is the process.

Thank you.

Yes your case was approved.Usually they send the approval notice within 10 days. You don't have to contact the immigration regarding your I-485.

I agree with that. It can be revoked.  However I have seen many people who had asylum pending and got their greencard via marriage or vawa, went home right after and came back with no issue. One of them told me he just notified asylum office he got a greencard and that's all. I am really confused about what to do with this case when I'll get the GC.

Thanks for your response.

Your green card can be revoked, but if your Country's situation changed since you filed for asylum case then you can return without any problems. USCIS can revoke your green card if your Country didn't change what you told them.

Hi everyone! I was curious what everyone's timeline has been looking like lately.  I've been stuck in a RFE loop for nearly a year now, and there hasn't seem to be any movement.

Sept 2018 - Married

Aug 2020 - Separated

Jan 2021 - Submitted my I-360

Feb/March 2021 - Travel documents and EAD approved

Sept 2021 - Submitted evidence for RFE and it wsa received

Nov 2021 - Submitted an renewal for my EAD, since it will be expiring

March 2022 - Evidence has been waiting to be reviewd

I haven't got any notied by my EAD renewal and the evidence has been stuck in reviewing limbo for awhile now.  Is this normal? I would love to hear other people's stories

Life appears to be on a long hold unable to enjoy any experience:

I-360 April 2021,
no RFEs,
no PF,
1 EAD,
I-360 Status - 'Correspondence Was Received And USCIS Is Reviewing It' since June 2022

I thank God every day for giving me the ability to support myself!

God Bless you all

Hello, VJ family it has been long since I posted lasted time.  I’m wondering if anyone could know or been through about EAD denial.

my timeline as below

Sep 2020 I-360 & I-485 filed concurrently

Apr 2021 EAD combo received since then I was on extension.

3rd PF was received today

EAD was denied today at same time

I was about to raise SR of my EAD renewal but I can’t any longer

im waiting for letter explanation why EAD was denied but I don’t understand why my EAD is being denied as same time. does anyone experience or went through same situation? If anyone could assist, would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Find someone who's in worse shape than you are (there are many) and help them.  It will do wonders.

It is Wednesday -- time for our hilarious, tension-relieving Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

==================================
THE RUDE CUSTOMER

A man entered a restaurant and was seated.  All of the waitresses were gorgeous.  A particularly beautiful waitress came to his table and said, "What would you like, sir?"

He looked at the menu, looked at her, and answered, "A quickie."

The waitress walked away in disgust.  After regaining her composure, she returned and asked again, "What would you like, sir?"

Again the man looked at her and answered, "A quickie."

This time, her anger took over.  She reached out and slapped him across the face with a resounding "SMACK!" and stormed away.

A man sitting at the next table leaned over and whispered, "Uh, pal, I think it's pronounced 'quiche.'"
