If I were you, I would wait for a couple of more months. Your case still needs to be sent and received at Montreal. Then again, I did not go through NVC (we did DCF); so I'm not sure. Wisdom, anyone????

good luck, L.

You need wait as they will send you a special form to take to the doctors with you. You will also have to go to a doctors of their choice and their is a set fee that you have to pay.

I'm having mine done next week in Vancouver, and I haven't received an interview date yet. All I needed to bring to the doc is an old form from NVC that has my case number on it. I don't honestly believe that the backlog in Montreal is going to last much longer, so I decided to go ahead and get it over with.

I second Misty. the Dr will need a letter from NVC that has your case #, it doesn't have to be the interview letter. get it done with that way you won't be rushed when they finally give you an interview date.

CR1/IR1 cases don't get sent to the embassy until the interview is scheduled. so the timeline is fairly different from K visas

met summer 1999, summer 2000 hooked up-whoo hoo summer fling

summer fling failed to fizzle, married 2003

I-130 mailed 12/15/03

I woudn't jump the gun on the medical if I were you. You never know what requirement may change between now and when you get your interview letter. THe Dr's office usually want your case number and mine wanted to know my interview date before I booked. In the meantime make sure you have all your vacc. records and immunizations up to date.

Excellent advise neiks (as usual). To the OP: make sure you have all your vaccinations up to date, and if you don't have your vaccination records, you can either be referred to have a titration test done, or wait for the doctor who does the medical to do so.

Indeed, jumping the gun on the medical is a risky one - but you'll do what's best

Good luck, L.

actually I don't see what is risky about getting the medical done. Glady's case was complete the end of may-there have already been some interviews scheduled for other people that were completed around that time. So, the OP should be getting their interview next month. There hasn't been any change in the medical requirements since we started all this 3.5 years ago and even if there was a change it wouldn't go into effect immediatly. Many people -my husband included- have had their medical done with any letter from NVC with the case number not the interview appt. letter.

If we had waited till we got the appt. letter, the hubby wouldn't have been able to get the medical results back before the interview. The dr. was scheduling 2-2.5 weeks in advance and our interview is now less than 3 weeks away. it seems alot more risky to me to wait for the interview letter
