Yes

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

does your state have unemployment benefits for self employed persons ?

Many don't

have you been paying into a plan that gives you these benefits?

I am on W2 for  project works and have couple of businesses as well. Just want to confirm if this is ok to file unemployment while I look for next project on W2. Filed for I130 for my wife in May 2022 . Was told by USCIS that it will take 10.5M to complete the I130 process. If I get unemployment benefits until she get I130 approved, will that be  an issue?

@JeanneAdil In my state during Covid we had Self Employed Unemployment filing, now that I was on W2, I could be eligible for the regular unemployment.

Please advise.

the covid unemployment benefits are over and unemployment is allowed for support from my research /remember normal is 26 weeks and there is no extension now (as there was during covid)

surely you'll have a job by the time she has an interview as current income is the key

more immigration expenses are in your future at NVC stage

for the AOS  form I 864  $325

for the visa application form ds 260 $120

for the green card to be processed after visa issued $220
