I got an email two days ago saying that my case has gotten documentarily qualified and the NVC is now working on scheduling my interview at the embassy.

When logging into ceac it says police certificate (Germany) missing.

Although my police certificate has been submitted and accepted further down in the same list.

I’ve already tried researching and contacting NVC per mail and contact form but I can’t figure out what to do.

Could the be worried my police certificate might expire before my interview? It expires February 2023 (it will be two years old by that time)

I’ve requested a new police certificate just to be safe so I can end up bringing it to the interview but should I upload it or no?

Hi there 👋🏽
Congratulations for being DQd. First of all, don’t worry, everything’s in place. Once you get the DQ message, you’re in the line waiting for an interview, even if a document is missing.

This happened bey case the CEAC automatically expires certain documents like Police Certificate.

I recommend to wait until you receive the interview letter and update the Police Certificate and any other document that might be required to be up to date. What you need to know is that for the interview, make sure the documents are up to date.

Can you let us know when you submitted this police certificate?

Unless Germany or DR has a different rule, that is not true.  Typically the case file at NVC stays static after DQ.  All applicants are required to bring originals of submitted documents to the interview.  At the interview, any updates documents can be presented.  The most common one the CO asks is a new I-864 - for many the time from NVC submittal to interview took a while.

@ValRam, I do not think it will take 5 months to get the interview scheduled at Frankfurt.  You should get the interview date in a month or two.  You can order a new PC to have on-hand, just in case.

Also, check your ceac status in about a week to see if IV has changed to accepted.

Sure, we are required to bring the physical version of submitted documents. But we are also required to update the ones from the CEAC.

Thanks!!

I’ve never heard of this. So my husband should fill out another I-864 just in case? Or will the CO ask before the interview if that’s the case?

It depends.  If your interview date is this year, your I-864 needs 2021 tax returns.  If it has it, then you are good to go.  If your interview is after April 15, 2023, then the I-864 would need 2022 tax returns.

Did you end up uploading the missing document again or no? I got DQ msg but just like you it also showed missing police certificate. I reuploaded, just curious if that will effect interview letter timeframe. Thank you.

It didn’t matter at all. They didn’t care. I just brought both police certificates to the interview and they looked over them but they didn’t matter at all.

I don’t think you need to worry, just bring both to the appointment.

As long as you’re dq it doesn’t matter. Just make sure you have a valid police certificate on you at the interview ☺️
