Paris Interview Date

Hi everyone,

Is anyone going through the French embassy in France for the K-1? We received confirmation from NVC that our application was sent to the embassy on 8/16/2022. We have a little more than a month before our I-797 notice expires. I contacted the embassy yesterday but was told that until our application is processed ("Ready") they can't provide an update.

Any information on recent experience with the K-1 through Paris would be helpful. Thanks again!

The embassy should extend your approved I-129F since the delay is the fault of the embassy.

@Mike E Thank you. This takes some of the pressure off! :)

There is also a K1 visa group on FB, with a a whole group of people who went through the embassy in the past months / years.

Seems like the most recent interviews go through in batches, like months nothing and then all of us sudden they will all schedule them in one day.

I'm a bit worried, still at uscis stage though (almost 6 months), hope they will get better soon.

@Chancy Thank you!  At one point all the other embassies in France were closed (Strasburg, Marseilles, etc). They may also be processing cases from Madrid or Portugal (please correct me if I'm mistaken)? I'm really hoping our interview can be scheduled before the end of the year...

@FilledesEtoiles Thanks for sharing the FB group -- I've seen others mention this site.

I wish you much luck in your journey! It took us 13 months to receive the NOA2. Our I-134f was filed on 5/6/2021 through the CA Service Center. There seemed to be a high volume of filers after March (the world was opening up from COVID.) If you can get an empathetic rep on the phone at USCIS, they may be able to provide you with an update on your case (ie. if there was a problem with the application, the last time there was movement with your case, an estimated wait time before approval, etc.). The reassurance I received provided some relief but not every rep will do so (you may need to call several times over the course of a few months before learning any significant info).

From the thread above there were 2 couples scheduled for interview recently. Both had interviews that were scheduled 4 months after their NOA2 date. I estimate our interview may be scheduled for Nov/Dec (not accounting for US/France holiday periods)? -- I'm hopeful! Thanks for everyone's help!

Thank you for sharing this! I will ask my fiancé to call them, didn't even know it was possible to ask for this.

We had a nice experience with them last week. My fiancé did not send the correct divorce document, and we sent the right document to uscis after we filed and were worried that they added it correctly. He called last week and they said they had received it and successfully added, which is one worry less !

yes, 2021 filers were not very lucky, it is taking a long time, keep me posted on the Paris interview, wishing you luck and fingers crossed! You are almost there!

I know a few couples from the FB group that have their interview on the same day in September, some are from Portugal. Hope they answer soon, it is so stressful!
