People say it all the time - someone just called themselves an Italian-American on another thread. Pretty sure she is not a citizen of Italy.

Why do you care? It's like getting bothered because prefers to be called by their middle name.

This is what I was saying earlier - why does he keep singling out one group for criticism while ignoring the rest? Where we're getting into the semantics of terminology - that outrage seems to be rooted in political correctness - rather than anything really substantive.

I am still waiting on your response to the person's comment about white people basically framing a black athlete torturing dogs. It seems the new post 60's status quo, in America, is that anyone Caucasian is responsible for any shortfall within the black American community.

"White folks 'been grindin' on an ax ... and that ax ain't got sharp enough for them," said Earnest Hardy Sr., who called the case a witch hunt targeting a successful black man.

but there numerous other examples such as:

Kanye West: "Bush Doesn't Care About Black People"

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

You don't see double standards here?

Out of curiosity Number_6, do people of African decent in the UK have the same attitude as their distant brothers in the US and blame the Englishman for prior events? I cannot recall America colonizing any African nation

You mean double standards in some isolated quotations from a couple of people with 'extreme views'. Who exactly do you think those views represent - besides the authors?

As for the other question - I don't know. Therefore I don't feel comfortable 'guessing'. Clearly you have no problem jumping to those conclusions based on anecdotes and innuendo.

Obviously what a few say does not represent the community but that was just an example of modern inequality. If a white singer had made a similar stupid comment about someone black and powerful, Jesse Jackson would be demanding he be fired and all record contracts canceled immediately. No ifs or buts about it..

If OJ Simpson had been white and his wife been black, LA would have been burned down after the outcome. Isolated incident or hypothetical you say. Duke Lacrosse ring a bell. Those boys where condemned from day one; with their reputations ruined. Wasn't about right or wrong but you are white and going down period. I am yet to hear an apology from any prominent black American leader who spoke out against them.

Then why did you bring it up in such a way as to suggest that it does?
