How do you argue with someone who's not listening? The correlation between poverty and crime is a proven fact as much as improving working conditions increases job performance. You can't say that the reasons are invalid bcos the end result is bad. That is quite a ridiculous fallacy. When you refuse to acknowledge that and continue arguing, then you have a recipe for arguing indefinitely.

Why didn't I comment on the 17 pages? Because I find it a waste of time!!! I do admire your patience Number 6.

What about poor Caucasians? Why is it they are not incarcerated the same? Considering there are more poor Caucasians in America. There is a clear correlation between poverty and crime after all right?

Someone mentioned Caucasians having better access to lawyers previous. What part of they are poor as well does one not understand? Black Americans do not have a trademark on poverty.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Actually I'd like to hear more from you telling people how to live (or you'll beat them up).

Show me where "I said I would beat someone up based on what they are wearing..

You yourself have made generalizations on poverty and history being the cause yet refuse to provide any workable solution or proof for that matter.

Sigh... Someone mentioned the inner-city a while back, which has its own set of issues and problems. You chose to ignore it, guess its not worth bringing up again.

I am still also waiting on your answer to the following:

So we give them:

* Allowances.

* Twice the welfare of everyone else.

* Half their land back for them to control

* Free houses and cars

* Absolutely free education with Free living expenses.

* Affirmative action for them to get jobs. Even if someone else is better qualified. They just need to apply.

* $525,000 in damages for the stolen generation

What else would you like us to do?

Ignore what. You guys made the correlation (aka generalization) but cannot back it up. Yet when someone else makes an opposing observation, they are wrong wrong wrong and racist of course..

I never said I had a solution - for that matter I'm not sure what you want me to propose a solution for.

Indeed I'm not sure that there is a 'magic' solution for social injustice - that broad social inequalities can be fixed by an act of government or by a wave of a magic wand. Of course recognising that those injustices took place and are informing the present would be a start (and as I said - the Australian Government isn't prepared to do even that).

I do think however, that you are simply looking for justifications for your own prejudices.

In that respect - based on the views you've expressed can you honestly say that you are doing all you can to live in an inclusive society, or that you are allowing yourself to be part of the problem?

As for the bolded part - I merely asked why you said that a person who dresses up a certain way would be beaten up overseas. Moreover, when I ask for clarification you brought in kickboxers and being 6' 3". Perhaps you had another reason for bringing that up. As I said - I'm still scratching my head...

Boo-ya, you should know by now if someone cant answer the question and then try to divert you with another question thats code for "you got me"

I think you wholly missed the point of the comparison. Regardless of social programmes why do you think that these two groups in the US and Australia share similar present day social problems? I asked that a loooong time ago - and you ignored it.

Actually I think its quite easy to back up the correlation between poverty and crime - if that really needs to be done. You need only look at the areas where the most crime has been committed, and look at the average household income in those areas. Cause - no, contributing factor - absolutely.

Fair do's - but personally speaking, I wouldn't defend this guy without reading what he's been writing over the last 18-odd pages...
