My fiance is supposed to go for his medical soon. However, we're both very afraid that it's going to cause problems. He is still suffering sypmtoms of exhaustion and sickness. Even though his orginal issue(cancer) has been resolved for now. The symptoms he is having now is something that can go on indefinitely from what we understand :( We're really scared they're going to deny him because of this.

First of all I'm wondering if anyone knows .....will he most likely still have to go to the interview and let them decide this or does the doctor make a decision right then and there in a case like this?

Secondly, if he is denied either at the medical exam or embassy....is there anyway to fight this or is that it for having him come here? :(

I wish I had a precise answer for you. First, I am so sorry that your fiance is going through medical problems: my prayers are with you. I think exhaustion (even chronic fatigue syndrome) is NOT grounds for inadmissibility.- I would assume you could get a note from his oncologist indicating the cancer is either gone or on remission, and show it to the panel physician at the medical... IF he asks to see it at all. I am not promoting lying, but I am promoting giving only the info you are asked to give. But that's just me. I am sure wiser members will have more precise things to say.

Good luck, L.

The top concerns for the med exam are various forms of infectious diseases. Cancer isn't contagious. I've seen some people face extra checks or doctors ask for extra paperwork due to mental problems (depression, suicidal thoughts, etc). You will probably be okay. It would probably be a good idea to carry with him his medical records and a note from his doctor regarding his not having travel or health restrictions, remission, etc. But as mentioned you DO NOT need to volunteer this information. In fact, I specifically wouldn't, unless it is requested. Whatever the forms as that he discloses, he should disclose. But you don't need to volunteer what isn't requested. So go prepared and stay calm. Hopefully things will be fine! Best of luck.
