Hello,

I have been looking everywhere and stressing a lot about this with no luck in having clear understanding what it going on.

1- I applied for a VISA and did an interview back in July 14, 2022 and counselor said I have to be in AP during the interview.

2- They emailed me a form to fill and I sent it back on July 29, 2022.

3- Status was always "Refused" on CEAC with both dates listed as "July 14, 2022"

4- On September 9, the "Last updated" date changes to September 9, 2022 but still says refused.

Is this the final update? How can i know? Shall i receive a rejection email if I was denied or I won't get that? The process is unclear.

Thanks in advance for sharing some info and your experience.

Refused doesn’t want mean what the dictionary, you, or I think it means.

As long as they possess your passport your visa has not been denied.

Administrative Processing can take days to years.

They didn't keep my passport at the interview.

They gave it back to me and said to keep it and they will contact me for more info.

I got an email then ext day to fill the DS5535 form (if im not mistaken by the number) and sent it back to them.

And yesterday the date updated while status is still refused.

in the above search box type in ds 5535 and read what many  others say concerning the AP process for this

sorry for what u go thru but relax and spend as much quality time with family as if approved , and u come,   u will find yourself homesick

best now to forget immigration on a day to day basis continue a normal daily routine

like Mike E said Refused is not refused

and the AP background checks can take months

your post says Netherlands but is that your birth country?

I am originally from Lebanon, residing in The Netherlands.

I applied in Brussels since in Amsterdam the closest appointment was September 2023.

Your AP will include the extra security checks for your home country

relax and quit stressing

it will just take time for this Ap process to work  thru the system

Alright .. And assuming my application gets rejected, I should receive an email about why it was rejected, right?

you are stressing too much

if there are no red flag issues like Nolo site defiines

https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/red-flags-that-make-uscis-suspect-marriage-fraud.html

and u were completely honest with CO

and documents are in order,  then relax

just let the AP play out

and the very best to u

Notification of either denial or issued visa will be on the CEAC site

the USC would receive notification of a denial

I really hope so .. My fiancee is american and that is why I wanna go there.

I hope things go well.

Ohhhhh.

Well that’s an important  missing detail.

1. Did you disclose to the office who interviewed you that you had  a fiancée in the U.S?

2. Does your fiancée have a pending  or approved I-129F?

3.  Were you planning on getting married while visiting your fiancée?

1. Yes, i did mention that in the DS160 and during the interview.

2 & 3. No, cause I am not intending to move there, the plan is for her to move to The Netherlands with me and I just wanted a tourism visa to go visit.

I also mentioned that to the counselor that she will move here. We will get married here in The Netherlands, not in the US.

I am sorry but I don’t think you are getting a B visa, ever.  I hope I am wrong.

And why is that?

Because you have a romantic  relationship with a U.S. Citizen and you are a citizen of a country whose citizens are not part of America’s  visa waiver or visa exemption programs.  Your ties to America are considered stronger than your ties to Lebanon or your country of residence.

When will you become a citizen of an EU or other visa waiver / exempt country, you have a stronger chance of being able to visit the USA.

Does your fiancée have a citizenship of another country in addition to the U.S.?
