Hi,

Silly question but we just wanted to be sure. When filling out the forms for AOS, do we fill it up with my wife's married name now?

05/28/07 - Applied for Joan's SSN - no problems - got it in mail a few days later

07/09/07 - Got Maui'd in Hawaii Wedding Photos

07/19/07 - Got vaccination for Joan (she didn't get it in Phil)

08/15/07 - Filed our AOS papers

10/--/07 - Found out we sent the papers to wrong office. We've called several times to get this clarified but all got is that we need to WAIT for our papers to be forwarded or returned to us.

10/--/07 - We got our papers back.... ngngngng and re-sent it to the right office

01/23/08 - Got our interview date

03/10/08 - INTERVIEW DONE!! Our Interview Experience

You use her current legal name. For instance, my wife's name didn't change when we married. If her current name is different from that in the passport and on the visa, send the documentation that indicates her name changed, not simply that you married.

for the applicant name use the married name

put the maiden name in the block for other names used

The permanent resident card will have her married name that way.

I filed with my new married name and didn't have any documentation to proof that, other than my marriage license.

When going forbiometrics they wanted the marriage license as a proof of ID. It was no problem and we have been approved last week and my Green card will have my married name.

Online USCIS website: 06-03-2009 ( so am I a May or June filer now.)

Bio. Appt. : 2009-07-24 (walk-in on 07/14/09 and accepted)

Card ordered: 2009-08-26

Letter received approved: dated 08-22-2009 :o

*touch* : 2009-08-31

Green card recvd: 2009-09-01

April 2010: Eligible to file for US citizenship
