Hi Folks, after a painful and long journey i'm so close to be done but i'm worried about one thing. This forum helped me a lot so please provide help if you can. Thank you in advance.

I passed my interview last month and my oath will be next week.

Today I recieved a traffic citation (I wasn't pulled over) about turning right on red light...

It says "NOTICE OF VIOLATION - AUTOMATED RED LIGHT ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM -

.... "Your vehicle was turning right on red light and not being operated in careful and prudent manner"

It also says "This is a non-criminal infraction of state law". STATE IS FLORIDA.

I have option to pay (less than $200) online. I want to pay online and not fight because not sure if fighting it will cause delay.

Will this affect my oath? Oath ceremony has a form that says "have you been cited since your interview..." and I will have to say yes to it.

Any similar experience or suggestion?

Thank you if you can help.

Answer Yes, move on. It won't affect anything. Just pay it and have a receipt ready

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Don’t pay , look for a traffic firm or attorney that specializes on Traffic tickets and you may be lucky to have it canceled. If you loose you get refunded, if you win, you pay less to attorney and avoid points and increase in car insurance. Mention it on your oath day and let them know it’s in court if you chose to go that route. They will tell you it’s nothing. Whether you choose to pay or not, it won’t affect your oath ceremony.

In my opinion, just pay it and bring proof of payment during your oath ceremony in case they ask or try to pull you out. I have heard many tales of people being pulled out of the ceremony because they somehow know if you had gotten a ticket.

It’s not criminal, it happens, don’t let your ceremony be delayed. Worst case scenario, they still may pull you out to verify it themselves.

If you try to contest it, you may not get a date until after your ceremony.

Just pay online and close the case. No need to bring any documentation to the oath. You are not cited for any violation, your car is and you got the citation just because you happen to be the owner. In other words, you have not been cited for violating the traffic rules.

thank you everyone for replies.

i heard everyone and i decided to pay it online. bring the receipt and ticket to oath ceremony.

i will also mark "YES" to citation question on the form so i will mention this on my form.

does this plan makes sense? would this make a mistake? do i have to reach out to court or police department to make sure system is updated with my payment before the oath?

thank you agian if you can reply.

You can try. In my experience FL is among the worst states in terms of getting things done. Unless you sit on the call waiting for them to push a few buttons right, they won’t. From child support to dmv to courts.

I believe your own payment copy will do fine. I understand your paranoia but you have made it, now just relax,

Traffic tickets do not go against you unless you were arrested, detained or charged with an offence. Focus on your interview , worry less about tickets! Good luck
