Move to US now or use parents address as domicile?

My husband's interview is coming up in October. My Dad is the cosponsor. I became a permanent resident of Canada last fall and have been here with a job but have made quite a few trips back. It seems somewhat risky and expensive to move back now because it would mean spending money on a lease, quitting my job in Canada, etc, with no guarantees of him getting approved, but it also seems like that's our best chance. On the other hand, my parents are willing to come up with a lease agreement, and I have a bunch of evidence with ties to the US (bank account, car reg, insurance, credit card that has never lapsed) in the 7 years we've been together I could expand upon, such as getting moving quotes, applying for jobs, registering to vote, getting a lease agreement from my parents, moving money to our US accounts, and so on. That would prevent us spending thousands of dollars to 'establish domicile,' but carries with it the risk of 'not enough evidence' at his interview.

I realize this question has been asked a bunch in the past and have done my background research, just curious what everyone thinks now in September 2022.

Personally, I would think a lease agreements from your parents as your future locale of domicile would be fine.  Many people rely on family for international moves, and the process is to show strong evidence of "intent" to re-establish domicile.  That being said, I heard the consulate in Canada can be tough for this requirement, so gather all the evidence you can.

Good Luck!

Thanks. We intend on moving to a different state eventually, so would it be better and increase our chances if I just went now and got us a place to live, started out as if he were approved? I was thinking we may as well because that's our intent anyway. What's the worst case scenario, he gets RFE'd and we have to submit additional evidence in the next couple months? He's fine staying here if he has to while he waits. We just want to maximize our chances this gets approved, with minimal risk to us financially. It would be a real pain to get a lease and pay out a security deposit etc only to find out we aren't moving after all.

I've decided to move back to my parent's house in a week and start our life in America. Will gather as much evidence as possible. Here are some things I thought of.

1. Lease agreement/Affidavit from parents

2. Vet for our dog

3. Health Insurance

4. AAA

5. Volunteering Opportunities

6. Transactions made while I'm there on a bank record

7. Appointments to look at apartments

8. Job applications, and hopefully a job and maybe even a paycheck!

9. Moving quotes

If anyone has any more advice it would be much appreciated!!
