@Sarge2155 the extension letter arrives with the NOA.... how does that work? whats the process? I am confused....

The NOA is the extension  letter. The NOA will have a typed paragraph or two on it stating the your GC has an extended  validity of 24 months. Again the NOA and extension letter are one in the same. Be sure to make several copies and put away the original for safe keeping.

USCIS is like a box of chocolates, you never know what kind of answer you are going to get!!!!

Hello guys,

I am new here.

Package sent : September 9th via USPS Priority

Package delivered : September 12th ( 8:30 am at Carol Stream, IL)

Not cashed yet, no text message as of today Sep 14th.

We have submitted the below evidences, but not sure if they are enough or not.

1. Copy of Green Card

2. Copy of Marriage Certificate

3. Joint Checking Account we are using

4. Three letters of support from close friends

5. Treasury Bond investments (Payable on Death to spouse)

6. Joint Brokerage Account (JTWROS Account: Joint tenants with right of survivorship)

7. Letter of Verification from our landlord confirming that we have been living together since 2017

(Our landlord is a public company, not a person. Our lawyer confirmed that there is no need to submit the whole lease agreement as long as we have the verification letters. Is that OK?)

8. Driver's license with the same address

9. Joint Auto Insurance

10. Medical, Dental, Vision, Accidental, and Hospitality Insurances where spouse is the dependent

(We also have some medical bills associate with those insurances, but our lawyer said no need to include them due to privacy concerns)

11. Joint Tax Transcripts for 2019 2020 2021

12. Travel flight, Amtrak and excursion tickets with both names

13. Emergency contacts screenshot from our employers' HR system

14. Durable Power of Attorney appointing spouse

15. Alumni Event where we were both invited and attended. The registration email confirmation has both names

16. Joint Credit Card Statements (every statement in 2022 and 2021 Summary)

17. 15-20 photos while we were travel or with friends

No utility bills since water, sewer, trash, and heat are all paid by the landlord. I originally plan to add Internet and Electricity bills but they can only have one name on it. Our lawyer said we had enough evidences so no need to add them, in case USCIS wants to make a big deal of it.

Thank you so much!

@eeaaggllee

Just a heads up, everything your lawyer tells you is in fact not always correct. We have seen many a lawyer give out bogus information. The information you have listed as what you have sent to USCIS should be a good start! Remember this forum is basically a DIY forum!

Good luck and a speedy journey for you. Please fill out your timeline as it will help others and yourself! Welcome to the thread!

Hey thanks for the quick reply!

so you think we should have mailed out the Lease Agreements since 2017 and medicinal bills as well?

If they included both of your names, yes, it could have helped. The more the better, but maybe your case is going to end up not needing it. If in the future you apply for N-400 under 3 year rule, include them for sure.

Thanks, will do for sure going forward. I can understand because each agreement is 50 pages thick * 6 years of lease...very easy to confuse USCIS officers...

Not necessarily I was just trying to point out that no body has a 100% interest in your case BUT YOU! Not even your lawyer, meaning do not take everything as gospel. You are in a good forum though so keep an open mind and read read read, do not second guess and you'll be fine!

Still haven’t got text or email notification of the case acceptance. Delivered on Monday 9-12 morning. Is this normal?

Asked my lawyer if his credit card has been charged…waiting response

I wouldn't worry just yet -- some people get a notification in 3 days but some take a bit longer. For me the credit card charge happened the day before I received the text. It's likely you'll hear something tomorrow or Monday.
