She should update her social security card to remove wording similar to "Valid for Work Only With DHS Authorization" if she has it written.

Then she can only show her state ID or driver license and Social Security card.

Another, but bad option is to use green card and extension letter. This is bad because some employers don't understand how it works and can ask for new proof when her extension letter is close to expiration. It's not worth going this route.

I appreciate your help and quick response.

If she doesn’t have an unrestricted social security card, she should be able to easily get one from an SSA office as long as her GC is not expired

She should try removing social security card restrictions by bringing her GC and I-751 extension letter to social security administration.

Yes, I just filled out the application and now I will take her in to get this done.

Third inquiry for biometrics expires in 8 days, no response.  LOL

Meanwhile, just keep swimming through life making other changes and plans because clearly ROC ain't happening soon.  Haha

So much for the six month low-risk approach.  Only MSC and just a few lucky ones.

Plot twist- we received a biometrics appointment for this week. Lol!

Third inquiry expires in 3 days and nothing on biometrics.  Called Infopass and it did not yield any results.  We are in the waiting game.  Meanwhile, other cases are getting approved in 6 months.  SMH.

My case never updated for biometrics too but I got info pass for stamp passport and officer told me my biometrics re-used it and haven’t showed up on my end yet. But when the time I can file for citizenship comes so I don’t care about I-751 no more.

I wouldn't stop caring about I-751. Ultimately N-400 will depend on I-751 approval.

Here is a good story about pending I-751 and N-400:

Not saying the OP there didn't care, but definitely could have watched the I-751 case closer and do all the necessary steps to get it approved.

You are allowed to file for the N-400 3 years after the date you received the CR-1 (to meet the residency requirement).

If you received the CR-1 in 2020 then you are eligible this year and can file anytime after the date of the CR-1 provided you have met all of the requirements.

To clarify:  You can apply for citizenship, as the spouse of a US citizen, 3 years minus 90 days from the time you became a Green Card Holder.    That applies to those who entered the US via a spousal visa as well as those who adjusted status.

For those who are not spouses of UC citizens, it is 5 years minus 90 days.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
