When you received your conditional GC after adjustment, you should have gone go SSA office and replaced the SSN card to remove the wording / provision. It was free and your SSN would have remained the same. I have a similar story, already had SSN card with wording due to previous status. Got it removed after receiving conditional GC.

You should try removing it when you receive your extension letter. It will make your life way easier.

Yeah I’ll do that, and for the state ID the issue is that they extended it to the expiration date of the GC so it’s gonna expire at the same time as the GC :(

Yep will do on Monday for sure. This had completely ruined my weekend. Good thing is, we have the previous receipt and biometrics reuse letter well locked in our safe…just in case anything happens

Update: just chatted with Emma and confirmed that there is only one I-751 case on my wife’s file. The “new” receipt number belongs to someone else and was sent in error.

Also, our lawyer confirms that he would never rely on the online system, which has many odd and incorrect updates. We should be more concerned if we received a wrong paper notification.

I will update again if there are more updates.

Submitted an inquiry about the biometrics today.  It has been 50 days since they got the case.  Next, we will try to get the SSN updated with the extension letter.

Good luck! Hopefully you will hear from them soon! As for the SSN update, in my case to lift the restriction on my current card, the SSA does not accept the extension letter. They need the unexpired GC, at least 2 weeks before expiration date :( I went to SSA when my GC was 7 days before its expired plus extension letter.. She said I need to try again next time when I have the GC on hand. Oh well..

I am going to try next week then.  His doesn’t expire until December 9th.  We will see!  If not, we can wait.  But, at least we tried.  I wasn’t aware of that part when we started the AOS.  Had everything listed as far as timeline and things to do, but didn’t have the detail of removing that off the SSN.  Thank you!

I hear ya! Dec 9th is a month away, it should be OK! Yeah, mine during AOS only added my husband last name. When I was planning to remove the restriction on my card, COVID hit and SSA office closed for walk in.. My bad :(

You should try it.  I found this in their website (see below).  So, they should take your extension letter now (18 or 24 months) with expired GC.  This was new/updated in 2021.  Because of work, we might not be able to go next week, so I was poking around to see our options.

Hi fellow VJers!

New to the thread and was hoping for some feedback. Sent out wife's i-751 in September.

NOA received Sept 15. We're going on almost 60 days without any updates. Current case status is still showing when case was received. We're out here in Las Vegas, NV and were assigned a WAC case number, which I believe is California. Should I make an inquiry or sit it out for another month? Any similar cases here?

Hi! We were also assigned a WAC case number, and are on our 60th day without a biometrics appointment.

I tried Sarge's suggestion and followed the link that was posted to inquire for the biometrics appointment and was supposed to get answer yesterday, but no luck.

We are at Potomac 50 something days in.  Did the inquiry and nothing.  I was able to get a rep via chat who said there is “no actual timeframe” as to how soon a biometrics is waived or issued a date.  Who knows!

Thanks for the reply. Where are you located? I'm doing my best not to worry, considering the extension letter is for 24 months. But still, can't help but be closer to worrying than relaxing. I feel like you're the same. Do you happen to have to link that Sarge suggested?
